Dorset is home to thousands of miles of stunning country and town walks, taking in the rich and varied landscape of this gorgeous, historic county. Welcoming hundreds of thousands of tourists each year, Dorset\u2019s landscape is prime for exploration.<\/p>\n

Of course, for those of us with dogs, there\u2019s nothing quite like a walk with our furry friend in tow. It\u2019s why our dog-friendly cottages<\/a> are in such high demand throughout the year, and why we\u2019ve put together this list of the best dog walking routes around Lyme Regis. Let\u2019s get started.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Lyme Regis to Uplyme and Ware. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Taking roughly five miles to complete, this gorgeous walk encapsulates what makes Lyme Regis so special.<\/p>\n

Travelling up the River Lim from which the town gets its name, you\u2019ll pass historic buildings, navigate through dense woods and enjoy spectacular country views from Uplyme before enjoying dramatic views of the sea and the historic Cobb harbour. Dogs are welcome along the entirety of the route, so you\u2019ve got no reason not to explore Lyme Regis<\/a> and its surrounding area together.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Branscombe Mouth to Branscombe.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Located just a short drive down the coast from Lyme Regis is a short but lovely walk through and around the quaint, charming village of Branscombe.<\/p>\n

Beginning with a relatively steep ascent, the route quickly levels out and the going is easy from there as you make your way towards Branscombe, a National Trust managed town with a working forge and mill. It\u2019s an easy walk, ideal for taking kids<\/a> along and there\u2019s plenty to see and do in the town itself. 1.9 miles is the total length of the circular route which begins and ends at a car park<\/a>, so put your dog in the car and head over.<\/p>\n

Langdon Hill, Golden Cap & St. Gabriel\u2019s Chapel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

One for the serious walkers and the most energetic pups, here, as this 4.5-mile walk along the South West Coast Path takes you through a number of challenging yet rewarding landscapes.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll visit the woods on Langdon Hill, see the medieval hamlet of Stanton St. Gabriel and its ruined 13th<\/sup>-century chapel and so much more. This longer route, which also takes you to the top of Golden Cap (a legendary site for unparalleled views out over the county) was also featured in an episode of ‘Britain’s Best Walks with Julia Bradbury’.<\/p>\n
