“There was a distinct earthy smell which remained regardless of having windows open.”

“We had a lovely stay at the Orangery .”

Right next to the paddock , which our dogs loved , saw deer in there which was wonderful . So quiet and peaceful , made a great base to travel and see the sights .the bungalow has everything you need , and is lovely and cosy when it’s a bit cool !.Lyme Regis is wonderful , only 10 minutes drive away ! And Charmouth , with its wonderful dog friendly beach , and we found some fossils ! It was a lovely holiday , even though the weather wasn’t the best , we made the most of our stay , and would definitely go back !

“The Orangery is a lovely cottage with all the amenities we needed to have a great week’s holiday.”

With places like Lyme Regis, Seaton and Sidmouth a short ride away there was plenty to keep us occupied. To be able to our 2 border collies with us was an added bonus. My husband has already said would like to go again.

“This is a lovely little bungalow set in beautiful and quiet surroundings, ideal to explore the coast.”

The owner Stuart, was very pleasant, offering lots of information on where to go for dog friendly walks. The only downside was that the property smelt damp and fousty, which was off putting when entering, there was no evidence of damp however, just a horrible smell.

“The Orangery was absolutely perfect for our stay.”

The only thing that spoilt it slightly was the weather! We had everything we needed, we were comfortable and, when the rain did come down, we felt warm and cosy inside. It's ideally situated, so close to Seaton, Sidmouth, Charmouth and Lyme Regis and we found plenty of places to eat. The field next to the property was perfect for our dog also. Perfect. Thank you.

“We had lovely week staying at the Orangeryat the beginning of June.”

The property is very well kitted out and comfortable. The paddock is also great for the dogs. The property is situated well within easy reach of Bridport, Lyme Regis and Charmouth. It was great to meet the owner Stuart who was on hand and gave us advice on places to visit. Would definitely recommend to family and friends

“Spent the first week of October at the Orangery.”

We really enjoyed our stay. Owners were next door and on hand should there be any problems which there were not. Huge field right next to property for dog walking. Lovely setting only a few miles from the coast. Owners very helpful with suggestions for outings that were dog friendly. Cottage was just right for a couple; we would definitely recommend.

“This property was converted in 2006 and little has been done since.”

the settee was not as in photos and we would think it was bought from a second hand shop for a few pounds as it was so uncomfortable, the electric hob took ages to heat anything and the oven you had to decipher the stuck on bits of paper as to what function you wanted. in the bathroom the toilet was loose and moved every time it was used and we would think at sometime the toilet leaked due to brown marks around the base. generally very disappointed, but we do understand it is up for sale

We have since had a plumber check the toilet, and are sorry we were not made aware of this at the time when we would have taken immediate corrective action to help you better enjoy your stay. “This property was ideal as I have very limited mobility, being all one level and a wet room was perfect.”

Parking right outside was an added bonus. Peaceful setting, only negative was the chair in the photo was different, therefore not ideal for me.

The Orangery is one of two similar cottages at Symondsdown House that has been lovingly converted to provide very good quality accommodation while retaining much character and charm. Should the Orangery be unavailable then you might like to consider the Peach House. Situated in a wonderful rural location, yet only 5 minutes by car from the coast at Lyme Regis, these two (see V4890) detached high-quality holiday cottages are positioned in the grounds of a stunning Regency house. Set in 8 acres of beautiful East Devon countryside, 4 acres have been allocated for use by these two attractive holiday properties. Only a couple of minutes' drive from the market town of Axminster, these modern and well equipped holiday homes are conveniently close to the A35, allowing easy access to the whole World Heritage Coastline. Both properties have been designed for easy access with no internal or external steps. Ideal for couples wanting a romantic break. Please note: This property does not accept babies or children.
