“We booked the property last minute and understood from the write up that we would have use of the shared gardens which looked very attractive.”
This was not the case and had an overgrown paddock which wasn't much fun to walk in. As soon as you walked in the door there was a musty smell. The property was very dated, old furniture, curtains and general decor. There wasn't even a pint of milk to welcome us! Having run a holiday let myself where I provided a bottle of wine, milk, orange juice, bread, marmalade, butter and biscuits, this was very disappointing. The bin lid didn't work, so it was a pain taking the whole lid off every time to put something in. The shower on/off button wouldn't always switch on or off and you had to use the switch outside the door nearly every time, especially to switch it off. The cupboards smelt musty so when drinking from a glass you always had a musty smell. It is so easy to provide lovely accommodation but if I was the owner I would definitely give it a revamp and provide a welcome package and make sure everything works properly. I also feel that it was overpriced for what you got. We won't be returning.
Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry we didn't get to meet you in person, we tried 3 visits to the property but missed you. The 3 acre paddock has been cut, the shower checked and the bin replaced. The marketing of this property does not offer welcome produce, that way guests can bring their preferred choice of tea, coffee etc and avoid paying for welcome gifts that are not to their taste. We wish you a lovely summer. Property Owner
