“The property had a beautiful view as described however I found a few things not up to the usual standard of the Sykes cottages I’ve stayed in before: There was a terrible smell of damp throughout the property particularly in the master suite and ground floor toilet The ground floor toilet was badly stained in the bowl which was unpleasant The property had clearly been updated in parts E.”

G the kitchen and master en-suite bathroom ( bad damp smell ) however the remainder of the property was really dated in decor The patio leading from the main lounge area was unsightly and badly in need of jet washing.

“Stunning View is aptly named: sitting on the balcony, listening to the birds and watching the sea gently rolling in was deeply relaxing.”

The property is spacious, beautifully clean and had everything our family group of five adults needed to enjoy a wonderful week in Dorset. The owner arrived on the second day with a lovely gift of locally made biscuits and a welcome card, which was a nice touch. I would happily move in permanently! Thank you for a lovely home in which to share a wonderful holiday.

“Great property and we have a very enjoyable stay.”

A few small points that would improve the experience are: - sort out the dripping tap in the kitchen - having a hand towel or at least a rail/ring to put one on in the upstairs toilet. thanks for everything!

“Excellent hosts.”

Lovely garden and patio. Excellent for dogs. Very warm and sunny lounge. Arranged Asda delivery of food to the house. Local Nisa store very good. On a steep hill so need to drive. Would have preferred a welcome pack with tea bags, cooking oil and condiments etc to be included.

“There is nothing to say that the title of the property doesn’t say!”

If you want to appreciate views of the English countryside from the comfort of the front room then look no further! This is indeed a stunning view and a lovely part of the world very close to a lot of beautiful little towns and villages. The property itself is lovely and very comfortable with a secure garden that my dogs had great pleasure exploring, not to mention some nice walks along the beach which was a short 5-10 minute walk away! My only slight criticism if I had to say anything was there was a slight musty smell when we arrived and the front and back garden needed to be tidied up a bit but I mentioned this to the owner who said no one had been in the property the previous week and the garden was due a spring clean so can’t really argue due to the time of year we visited! Lovely place to rest, relax and appreciate a stunning view for a few days!

“Four of us and our four legged friend stayed at Stunning View during the 3rd week of September.”

We chose to book this particular property after seeing the spectacular views of the Jurassic Coast which the house overlooks, and upon arrival we were certainly not disappointed! The property is well maintained throughout with very nice soft furnishings in the living and dining areas, and the rental included a high standard of bedding, and towels for the bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable and all rooms are well presented, very clean and tidy. The kitchen was well equipped with all of the usual appliances and utensils. The utility room was also very handy for making sure that our pooch was clean and tidy when we returned from our walks before letting her back in to the living area. Again, this was very well equipped with a sink, washing machine and cleaning utensils. The fully enclosed garden is a great size for children to play in and is very secure, so our Dog was quite safe. The icing on the cake though is certainly the amazing views from the spacious living room and balcony, the dining area, kitchen and two of the bedrooms. We shall definitely be returning to 'Stunning View' and would highly recommend this property. Finally, we would also like to mention that we received great communication from the Owners - a rarity these days, thank you so much!

“Lovely holiday house with spectacular views that we enjoyed every day, Charmouth was a great place to stay.”

Things that would have made the stay more comfortable: provision of a garden parasol, the awning didn’t appear to be operational? We were lucky with the beautiful weather and wanted to relax in the garden or balcony, there was a lack of balcony furniture and no source of shade which was such a shame. The patio garden table and chairs were very dirty with dust and cobwebs, I spent some time cleaning it down! The patio itself was in need of attention-a few pot plants and weeding would have made it so much nicer, the garden and views is such an asset to the house but the bare minimum of furniture and lack of tidying in the garden was disappointing as it made it less relaxing, The wall in front of the patio had broken and jad loose capping stones which was dangerous, considering the price paid for the weeks stay, I would have expected the outside area to have been better maintained. The house itself was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed.

The property

Having recently undergone a full refurbishment, this spacious, multi- level detached property enjoys a peaceful situation in the West Dorset village of Charmouth and from its elevated position commands spectacular views of the sea and Stonebarrow. The main living space is set out on the top floor to take full advantage of these stunning Sea views and from the kitchen there are also lovely far reaching views inland over the village and the beautiful Dorset countryside beyond.
