The property

A beautiful, charming and characterful cottage in the very heart of Lyme Regis. Retaining many original features including exposed stone and brickwork and with ceiling beams throughout, this property has been sympathetically converted and tastefully furnished to compliment the style and age of the cottage. A delightful feature of the cottage is its small private cobbled courtyard, accessed from the lounge, and providing a perfect spot to enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine at the end of the day. The Majors also has a small enclosed garden area, located off Sherborne Lane, with lawn surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. With its origins stretching back to Saxon times, Sherborne Lane is a mix of quaint and colourful period cottages of individual character and style. The Majors, located at the bottom of this pedestrian lane, overlooks the River Lym and the nearby riverside walk provides easy walking into the town and beaches. The independent shops, restaurants and galleries are only two minutes’ walk away making this an ideal retreat for couples looking to enjoy this historic and picturesque seaside town. Please note: The staircase in the property is quite narrow and twisting and may not be suitable for the very young or infirm. There are some internal steps and stair gates will not fit the staircase. Babies under 1 welcome but sorry no children. Access to the garden is via steep and slightly uneven steps so care will be needed.
