“On arrival the outside of the building was a shock as it is very run down and unkept.”

Car parking was only difficult the first time after that, not too bad. The windows need looking at, as only 2 open (bedroom and one in Livingroom, can be stuffy). Kitchen sink had a drain smell, we used lots of kitchen spray....... Living room sofa not at all comfortable, if weather had been bad this would have been a big issue. We found one dirty saucepan and a piece of bread left in the toaster, everything else was clean. The whole flat really needs a bit of a makeover, but, we still had an ...

“Property is ideally located for a holiday in Lyme Regis and is very well equipped, with everything you could possibly need.”

As mentioned in other reviews, the car parking is horrendous, as you have to negotiate a very narrow opening - and I have a very small car! I was very upset with Lyme Holiday Letting agency, as I requested ahead of the holiday to have the sofa bed made up. They confirmed that this would be done, but it was not. As there was no spare bedding this spoilt my holiday with my daughter as we did not wish to sleep in a double bed together - especially during the heat wave. The flat was very stuffy and hot when we arrived, as it had not been aired and retained the heat for 2 days, making it difficult to stay in. Happy to recommend the apartment, but not the letting agents.

“An ideally placed cottage which allows good access to the town and beaches.”

Local amenities very close by. The cottage is basically furnished with settees and a sofa that we found uncomfortable. We are both tall and visitors need to be aware that the double bed is small and cramped. The sofa bed in the front room was only used once because it was so uncomfortable. We had terrible weather and therefore staying in the cottage became an important issue. It just wasn't comfortable enough and we therefore left 2 days early just to get a decent night's sleep. The parking space is also an issue as it is difficult to get to. One of the permanent resident's smashed into the bins twice and was clearly frustrated by the parking arrangements. Our car being damaged was a constant worry.

“Good location, nice and central for town.”

Close to paths for getting to the park. Parking is tight but we have a large car and as long as you reverse in there’s no problem. From a dog lovers point of view we missed a garden. Also our dog loves to run around and in Lyme nearly everywhere is dogs on leads.

“Our stay was spoilt by ants in the kitchen, who were a few but who multiplied in the 2nd day if our visit.”

We had to throw away some fruit, and were put off cooking and paid extra to eat out each evening. On a 3 day visit and their development on the 2nd we did not want the further Inconvenience of waiting in for help, so did not report it until we had left, to save the next folks holiday. We were very disappointed to receive no compensation or redress. Parking was an art form to get our car into the one available space, and no warning given of this. Otherwise the little flat had some charm, a distant sea view, made more beautiful by a full moon. It was, apart from the ants, quite clean and very convenient for shops etc.

“Lovely clean cottage, shame about the shabby surroundings.”

Getting into the parking bay was a nightmare. We only had a Suzuki Splash car, getting between the pillars to park was very difficult. Location was good & convenient.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We think the Cottage is lovely, we have checked the surroundings and all is looking spruced up for Summer. Parking can be hard to find in the centre of Lyme so we are pleased to provide some parking next to the Cottage. The trick is to reverse back into the space which makes it easy to come back out. However, if people do struggle with that we are lucky to be just a couple of minutes walk from the large Holmbush carpark plus there is usually off road parking in the evenings, so there are a few alternatives. Sea Tree Cottage is in an excellent position to explore Lyme Regis and enjoy a beach holiday. It has a separate fully fitted kitchen and bathroom with bath and thermostatic shower over. The property is set in a quiet position above Langmoor Gardens with a direct path leading down to the sea. Comfortably furnished and well equipped the property is ideally situated within walking distance of Lyme's beaches, shops, pubs and restaurants. With off-road parking this is an excellent choice to enjoy all that is wonderful about this traditional seaside town.
