    “Had a cosy stay over the New Year break.”

The property

Situated on the Devon/Dorset border in the popular village of Uplyme, Anne's Pantry is a great base and perfect for exploring the breath-taking Jurassic coast and all that it offers. Full of character and equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable stay, this two bedroom cottage offers flexible sleeping options for a couple or a small family. The double bedroom with beams and vaulted ceiling offers views over the village. The second bedroom, with sleeping platform accessed via open tread steps is ideal for older children and teens, with the single futon bed a good option for younger children. The compact and cosy open plan living area is well thought out with a wood burning stove adding charm and comfort for colder evenings. For warmer days, steps from the back door lead to a small south facing, landscaped courtyard with a seating area and outside rattan dining furniture. A welcome pack for your arrival ensures a great start to your holiday and will include milk, tea and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats. The nearby seaside town of Lyme Regis is only 1½ miles away and a half hour walk along the picturesque River Lim footpath will take you to Lyme’s sandy beach and its famous Cobb harbour. In the village there is a small general store/petrol station, a children's playground next to the village cricket ground and tennis courts and a popular village pub which serves good food, all a few minutes walk away. Please note: There is no room in Bedroom 1 to put a travel cot although Bedroom 2 can fit this providing the futon bed is not in use This property has 2 bedrooms for up to 4 people. The sleeping platform/deck has a double mattress with very limited headroom and is only suitable for older children and teenagers. A maximum of one dog is accepted. Care will need to be taken when using the steps to the front and to the rear of the property as they are steeper than average. The beautiful countryside surrounding the village of Uplyme, on the borders of Devon and Dorset, is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, criss-crossed by bridleways and footpaths including the East Devon Way, and providing perfect country walks and superb views. The area was chosen by TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall for his River Cottage HQ at Park Farm, where you can treat yourself to a great meal. Just a short drive takes you to the stunning Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis. This delightful historic seaside town boasts a maze of narrow streets, with an interesting array of shops and cafes, whilst the sandy beach lends itself to great bathing and watersports, and the bustling little harbour offers regular fishing trips, or try your hand at fossil hunting. Within an easy drive is the quaint town of Axminster, or how about a ride on the Seaton Tramway? A glorious location for a varied and interesting holiday.
