“Just returned from a perfect stay at the Blue Neptune and didn’t want to leave.”

The house is spotlessly clean with great attention to detail and everything you could need for your stay. The gardens are beautiful and really well thought out with lots of interesting features.

The house is spotlessly clean with great attention to detail and everything you could need for your stay. The gardens are beautiful and really well thought out with lots of interesting features. Yes it is by a busy road at times, but this did not deter us from making full use of the balcony and gardens. Dan, the owner, made sure that we had a great stay throughout and the welcome pack was appreciated and a nice touch. Wish we were still there.

“Extremely pleased with the house.”

It was everything that we expected. Decorated to a high standard, the owners had thought of everything. The busy road has been mentioned in other reviews, yes, it is busy at certain times of day, but the house more than makes up for it. We had a fabulous stay and enjoyed it all

“Comfy beds but as it's near a main road, it's very noisy.”

Difficult bringing food down to the big dining table outside as loads of stairs. Would be better to have steps going up to the middle seating bit rather than ladders as toilets are downstairs. Not alot of room for food in cupboards in kitchen. Nicely decorated though!

Thank you for your review, Tara. We are glad that you were able to utilise different seating areas in the garden. Our children love exploring the different levels and we like the flexibility of eating in the large kitchen or outdoors. We put in the swimming pool ladder to the deck as a bit of fun, but of course people can take indoor stairs or the pathway from the living room. There is easy access to the garden from either the bedrooms or the living room on the first floor. We have now made lots of extra space for food storage in the kitchen cupboards as well as the utility room. As it is an upside-down house you do have to go down to the bathrooms, as opposed to with conventional houses you would have to go upstairs. We feel that the reverse layout offers the best views of the garden and across towards the sea. We hope that from the photographs on the website everyone gets a good idea of the layout and of the proximity to one of the main roads into Lyme. We feel that having off road parking and excellent access to all the local amenities makes up for the peak time traffic. Thank you for your positive feedback on the décor. “Absolutely loved the house but the location, on a busy road was disappointing.”

There was a lot of noisy traffic from early in the morning and not able to sit outside due to the noise. Such a shame because the outside area was very inviting. There was also a lack of cupboard space for food in the kitchen. Unfortunately would not return due to position of house.

We have done our best to mitigate any noise from the road, having the bedrooms downstairs, with double glazing and black out blinds and curtains along with our high-quality comfortable beds means we always have a good night’s sleep. The photographs on the website show the proximity to the road and having off street parking in this busy seaside town is a real bonus. The house is conveniently located to access all that Lyme has to offer and in summer there are very popular events on most weekends. “The cottage is furnished to a very high standard but is located right next to the main road so wasn’t very conducive to utilising the balcony and the patio.”

Quite a lot of traffic even in the evening and the bedrooms are on the ground floor so bit noisy. I had asked for the largest room next to the patio to be made into a twin but the smaller one was done instead. We were also given Prosecco and other luxury items which was nice but would have preferred soap in the bathrooms and a tea towel to use instead. The main problem though was that the bathrooms were very damp so the bath towels didn’t dry at all and the heating didn’t come on at all. Shame as the living area upstairs was very nice and the furnishings etc were very good. Beds were very comfortable

Hello Susan, Firstly thankyou for the review. Having read past correspondence from Lyme Bay Holidays bedroom 2 was changed with twin beds as you requested. Bedroom 2 is shown on the layout (not the bedroom near the patio). The welcome pack clearly states the products it includes and we do not include bathroom toiletries as many guests have specific needs. We provide two bath towels to each guest (one large and one smaller). We also provide two tea-towels in the kitchen area. The 'Nest' central heating system is directly linked to the three bathroom heated towel rails. Given the recent very good weather I assume the living room temperature (where the thermostat is located) was above the limit which mitigated any further heating. All bathrooms are very airy given an extractor fan (switchable) and open windows. To date the recently built property has never had any damp experience and if you needed to dry the towels we provided a multi tier airer (utility room) and two retractable washing lines (in the lower patio area). The marketing pictures clearly show the position of the property (and the balcony) in relation to the road. It also states that the bedrooms are at ground level (reverse level) Susan - I hope this clarifies the situation and thank you for your kind response. Kind Regards DAN & DAWN Property Owner
