Axe Valley Wildlife Park
Little ones will fall in love with this child-friendly small zoo nestled in the countryside of the Axe Valley. Designed for all ages, but primarily aimed at being accessible for families with children under 12, Axe Valley Park is home to plenty of animals, including flamboyant flamingos, zany zebra, prickly porcupines and bearded dragons. With plenty of play areas throughout the park children will have the chance to hang loose while their parents treat themselves to tea and cake.

Eat And Drink

The Clock, Chideock
A 16th Century thatched pub that has recently had a complete refurbishment due to a devastating fire in 2015. The newly re-opened Clock has added a decking area during the building work to add to the outside space available for drinkers and diners. This family friendly inn has a dedicated games area with skittles, table football, table tennis and children’s darts – perfect for a little after dinner competition. Full of homemade traditional pub classics this pub is a perfect hub for a casual evening out with the family.

Soft Rock Café, Charmouth
Bang on the sand at East Cliff Beach, this is the perfect pit stop for fossil hunters to fuel up on wedges of Dorset cakes, sandwiches stuffed with locally caught crab and traditional fish and chips. You can even hire hammers to help with your fossil hunting and book mackerel fishing or sightseeing trips aboard the owner’s fishing boat.

Wild Walks

Morecomblake and Langdon Hill
Starting from the lay-by by Moore’s Bakery follow the lane behind the bakery buildings and into the valley. Cross fields and onto Muddyford Lane before following the tree-lined tarmac track to the National Trust Langdon Hill Car Park. From here continue along the Forrestry Commission Path and enjoy regular stops over the countryside from benches that make the most of the vista.
