    We choose the cottage mainly Because of its beautiful location size and layout. We feel the cottage fails in a number of areas: The outdoors tables are disgusting, covered in bird poo, full of woodworm and uneven planks that caused glasses to be unstable. this was first reported in 2020, The seating in sitting room are uncomfortable, the dining room chairs were rocky and had nails protruding which were dealt with by your maintenance team. Still No instructions for recycling, microwave ...

We feel the cottage fails in a number of areas: The outdoors tables are disgusting, covered in bird poo, full of woodworm and uneven planks that caused glasses to be unstable. this was first reported in 2020, The seating in sitting room are uncomfortable, the dining room chairs were rocky and had nails protruding which were dealt with by your maintenance team. Still No instructions for recycling, microwave (which doesn’t work properly), heating ( which meant we were cold every evening) only one side of toaster working. Only about 10 mugs for 6 people, no cleaning products or cloths, no toilet cleaners, ridiculously small tube of washing up liquid. We were very thankful for the arrival of Beverley from Lyme Bay Holidays who arrived with a replacement tea pot, frying pan, baking tray as those in situ were all damaged.. Despite writing to Sykes previously and even sending a letter recording delivery to your CEO none of our previous comments were dealt with or even acknowledged. Sadly we have seen many negative reviews about Sykes in the media, including The Times, and BBC (today) Lyme Bay holidays were always excellent.. Sykes need to get their act together,,,,

The property

A superbly presented cottage, wonderfully situated alongside the River Lym yet within an easy 5 minute walk of the seafront and the various restaurants and shops in Lyme Regis. Renovated to a high standard, the owners have married a mix of traditional features with a contemporary finish and beautiful personal touches. A real feature of the property is the large sunny kitchen / dining room with doors leading out to a garden which takes full advantage of the peaceful location. The large lawn is perfect for children to play while you sit back and relax, maybe with a chilled glass of wine, listening to the river flowing nearby. A welcome pack for your arrival ensures a great start to your holiday and will include milk, tea and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats. This really is a wonderful holiday home-from-home and the perfect place to enjoy all that this unspoilt seaside resort has to offer. Please note: A maximum of one dog is accepted. About the location

LYME REGIS

Charmouth 3 miles; Axminster 6 miles; Bridport 10 miles; Sidmouth 16 miles.

The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer its visitors, boasting a maze of narrow streets filled with craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. Take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway overlooking the ancient harbour, where fishing trips can be enjoyed, or try your hand at fossil hunting in the area. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind. A holiday destination to savour!

Note: Permit for one car provided, off-road parking a short walk from the property, subject to availability.
We have been contacted by the local council concerning essential works taking place within the car park from the 3rd Feb for approximately 3-4 weeks weather dependent.
There will be a dedicated area for cars that have a parking permit to display, however please note that EV charging will not be available during this time but Charmouth Road Car Park and Holmbush Car Park chargers will be fully operational.
