1 Argyle House

This was our 3rd visit to 1 Argyle House and it did not disappoint!

We stayed during Lyme Regis Carnival Week and enjoyed joining in with the many Events that were taking place. It was always lovely to return to our accommodation which was so comfortable and welcoming. The views from the spacious Verandah are unbeatable and we spent a good amount of time out there, from dawn until dusk, enjoying the scenery and activities of people on the water. There is an excellent range of restaurants nearby. The car parking space included in the booking is a real bonus. We look forward to a return visit.

A fan to mitigate the intense heat would be good. BUT...serious issues about WiFi were not resolved or explained. Staff tried to resolve the problem but with no success. Lots of options on TV, but not possible to get BBC 4 or Channel 5. A lovely flat and we shall return next time on the hope that these issues will be resolved.

My wife and I were only there for a midweek break and regular visitors to the area new about the place before while passing.

It is a well presented apartment with picture perfect positioning. Compact but more than adequate. Well decorated. The welcome gifts and milk always a nice touch wherever we stop...on all the positive notes, and yes we would go again, there was one niggling smell that we could not fathom near the fridge that my wife has issue with....but all in all well advertised and a very pleased break

As usual, this place was immaculately clean and well presented.

it contains everything you need and is situated in a wonderful sea front location; with the balcony view being a daily treat. one little piece of feedback is around the outdoor furniture which is starting to split around the seats. not major but something to keep an eye on. this is our second visit and a third already booked, confirming our love of the area. town and this gem of a place.

Some little glitches. The information folder was in need of an update - wi-fi details hadn’t been updated. Purple rubbish bags weren’t supplied. An oven glove would be useful. Otherwise wonderful !!

We had a wonderful relaxing stay.

It was lovely to sit on the terrace or in the living room listening to the sounds of the waves along the beach. A brilliant location and a very clean, comfortable flat with everything we needed.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at 1 Argyle House.

The location is just brilliant and the flat is beautifully furnished. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. There was a minor issue with the shower during my stay, and it was resolved very quickly and efficiently. Hoping to be back again soon!

Such a beautiful place, the perfect spot to be in Lyme.

We even managed to sit out on the terrace a couple of times. Would love to return again and highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!

We were very lucky with the weather. As it was New Year, Lyme was very busy and being able to sit and watch everything that is going on from the Lounge is definitely the icing on the cake. We will be back again.

Great property.

We have looked at this house every time we’ve passed by on Marine Parade, having visited Lyme Regis many times. It appeared in my email inbox and the dates we needed were available so we booked. Very well equipped, comfortable with great views of the sea. The weather was not the best but we managed to sit out one afternoon to enjoy the sun. We would recommend this flat, very central to everything and included remote parking which is rare in Lyme.

We had a wonderful time.

For us the outstanding feature was the 24 hour view of the beach and the sea from the terrace and sitting room, ever changing through the day from sun rising in the east. Swimmers throughout the day. Fishing boats coming to and fro. Yacht club racing, gig boats constantly practicing and racing . Helped in our case by sun throughout.

Fabulous cottage in an unbeatable location.

A light, airy and spacious lounge opens to a stunning balcony area overlooking the sea and Cobb. The cottage has everything you need to enjoy the most perfect of stays. The internet is very weak and would benefit from a boost but not an issue for those looking to disconnect!

A lovely flat and we can think of no reservations except the television set was very limited as to available channels (BBC 4 unavailable) and I-player repeatedly interrupted by long pauses in the playback where the action was “frozen” repeatedly.

This made viewing all but impossible. We are not experts but suspect that the Wi-fi connection was faulty. But this did not spoil our fortnight stay in what is a very comfortable flat, with all other facilities provided.

This is a beautiful property, well maintained and equipped.

When you walk into the lounge and see the amazing view from this room and balcony, you realise how lucky you are. Its in a prime position, and has been my dream holiday. Thank you , we will be booking again.

A hairdryer would be great!

Our second stay at the property and it didn't disappoint.

A couple of minor problems were resolved promptly by the owners who were friendly and gave us helpful advice about the local area. We love everything about 1 Argyle, the property is so well equipped and has a lovely atmosphere. The views from the living room are unbeatable, day and night and whatever the weather! Although there are plenty of restaurants/pubs to eat in locally the kitchen is well equipped and it was possible to cook Christmas Day dinner! Having noted comments about the size of the bedroom, we did not find it an issue at all and there is ample storage space for a week's stay. We are already looking forward to booking a 3rd stay!

Whilst this is a very well presented, very cosy, quirky property in a wonderful location that gives you panoramic views of the sea it does come at a fairly hefty price to which I would expect to have a shower that works and doesn’t just pulse due to not having a pump fitted to improve the water flow (such an easy fix given lots of visitors have said the same thing) The bedroom is very tiny and quite claustrophobic (we slept with the door open) , the bed isn’t in the position of the photo graphs (which would be better if it was) it is with the headboard on the right hand wall underneath the picture which gives absolutely no room to walk around the bed without banging your feet & legs , and could be a real problem for those not to good on their feet and if you had to get out quickly you’d be best to go over the top of the bed , There is a wood burner shown in the photographs but there definitely isn’t one in the property.

The owners have definitely provided everything you need and the view is amazing but for the price the points above definitely need to be considered. Not sure if I would return.

Having stayed in Lyme many times, this is, without doubt, our favourite property.

It is very comfortable and it is obvious that it is well cared for and loved by its owners. “Small but perfectly formed” is, I think an apt description. You have to get used to manoeuvring around the bed and how to work in the kitchen but once you have the hang of it, it is very easy. The views from the Lounge window and the balcony are wonderful; I could sit there all day just watching the sea. Thank you, we will definitely be back.

Brilliant location.

Possibly the best in Lyme. Loved the Apartment. No denying the bedroom is very small however the owners have done a great job in providing lots of hooks, hangers and storage elsewhere and we soon got used to treating the rest of the apartment as a dressing room. Unfortunately a lot of noise from upstairs, not noisy people but simply walking around, opening drawers and doors all audible in bedroom. We noticed sofa was sofabed so decamping to that or earplugs for next visit may be the answer. Great welcome pack and extras of cleaning productions Dishwasher tablets very welcome. Overall loved Apartment and efforts made to make it comfortable.

After a long day sightseeing there was nothing better than sitting on the terrace with a drink in hand enjoying the view across Lyme Bay

We had a lovely stay with you and couldn't have been happier with the accommodation.

We had a mix up with parking but maybe you could point out that it is not in the business centre/church as they have a No. 15 space there too, our fault not knowing left from right lol but an easy mistake to make. Other than that absolutely faultless. Cleanliness, position, facilities, everything spot on! Will definitely return and would not hesitate to use Sykes again. Many thanks

Amazing views.

Lovely furniture. Grubby kitchen appliances and hob. Disintegrating bin bags that smelt of vomit ( they were biodegradable and think they were biodegrading). Needs free standing light or table lamp or dimmer switch in dining area for better ambience. Underbed storage drawers - could only pull one out - other one was trapped by bedside table ! Need to mention absolutely nowhere to really put clothes in the bedroom.

Fabulous.

The star feature is the lounge with panoramic window looking out over Lyme bay. The kitchen is compact but is well equipped with everything which was needed. Radiators in lounge and underfloor heating in kitchen and utility area kept Argyle House warm and cosy, even on cold January days and nights. Highly recommended.
