Beer Village

The quaint village of Beer in East Devon is a picturesque place to buy a holiday home in Devon. Dubbed as “Devon’s best kept secret” you’ll struggle to tell the difference to the south of France when visiting the beach.

With a few local shops and pubs, it’s a cute retreat with many activities to join in with in the area. Beer Village is hugely popular on social media and welcomes thousands of people every year.

Property in this area are mainly thatched cottages and cosy houses with a strong local community.


Axmouth

Sat on the banks of the Axe Estuary, this village is popular for birdwatching and walkers. Although small, Axmouth is a good area to invest in a second home with the harbour and distance to the beach favourable.

Axmouth is just a 6 minute car drive to Seaton which hosts a range of amenities.


Seaton

Home to Seaton Tramway, the town of Seaton sits on the seafront with a pebble beach and town centre.

Seaton is just a short drive to Lyme Regis which has an array of independent shops, beaches and great cafes, and restaurants.


Colyton

Set in the Coly Valley, this village is connected to Seaton and Farway. With many walks from clifftops to riverside, this area is a great hamlet to invest in a holiday home.

Colyton benefits from the Seaton Tramway which operates between the two, bringing thousands of visitors to the area every year.


Branscombe

Just a few minutes away from Beer Village, Branscombe is a quieter but equally as beautiful part of East Devon to buy a holiday home.

Nestled between the bigger towns of Sidmouth and Seaton, its well connected but has a homely feel. With thatched cottages, farmhouses and a church in the centre, it’s known as the “longest village in the country.

The beach is a stone’s throw from many of the properties and the biggest attraction in the area.


Axminster

Home to River Cottage, the town of Axminster is a hive of activity. Full of character and charm, Axminster is close to other market towns and Lyme Regis for visitors wanting commutable travel to the seaside.

Axminster train station is well connected to London and Exeter making it a great place to buy a holiday home in Devon.


Sidmouth

Home to the Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth is a great place to buy a holiday home in Devon. With many amenities and connections to Exeter, it’s a buzzing hub of activity.

You’ll find independent shops and galleries, parks and of course the beach in Sidmouth. The town is also super dog-friendly making it ideal for guests looking to bring their pet on holiday with them.


Lyme Regis and surrounding

Although technically Dorset, Lyme Regis sits on the East Devon border. This area of Devon is known for its art and theatre and it’s no stranger to celebrities looking to escape the city.

Lyme Regis is a great place to invest in a holiday let due to how much surrounds it. From the quaint villages and busy towns listed here, to everything Dorset and the Jurassic Coast has to offer.
