Nestled at the heart of the Axe Valley this small village on the Dorset & Devon border Axmouth sits at the upper end of the beautiful Axe Estuary abundant with bird and wildlife.
At the mouth of the Estuary is Axmouth Harbour, home to a number of small local fishing and pleasure boats and direct access to pebble beaches ideal for rock-pooling, crabbing, fishing and water sports.
Nearby the small town of Seaton has a unique tramway which runs inland, along the Estuary, to the medieval market town of Colyton and is perfect for birdwatchers, transport enthusiasts or those who simply want to watch the beautiful riverside scenery glide by. Next to the tramway is the new Seaton Marshes Nature Reserve.
There are two great local pubs serving food, The Ship and The Harbour Inn and Seaton’s town centre is a pleasant 15 minute walk away along the water’s edge.
