Hazelwood 4 @ Pinewood Retreat

Lodge was clean, comfortable and had lots of facilities.

Only very slight negatives were could have done with more crockery, (especially to use the dishwasher when not full), no oven gloves, and door to ensuite creaked which was annoying at night. Above is us being really picky. Highlights were gift pack full of local goodies and milk and tea. Delicious! Also cleaning pack and to find soap and toilet rolls everywhere needed and even a drying up cloth. Also pods for both washing machine and dishwasher if needed and washing up liquid etc. These things are really appreciated and very thoughtful of owner. We would definitely recommend this lodge to friends and family and stay there again ourselves. Swimming pools and site well maintained and clean and Wendy the site manager who was excellent and so friendly and kind and available if needed.

Fantastic accommodation, very quiet site, everything you need for a perfect holiday.

The only negative was when we arrived the fridge/ freezer was turned off at the socket, an easy fix but surprised this wasn’t noticed when they put the milk in the fridge as a welcome gift, so our shopping went in a warm fridge and a defrosted freezer ( which was dripping on the floor, when I opened the freezer door) which took a while to reach temperature. But otherwise everything was perfect

Lovely accomodation bed comfy our only comment would be to have tall kitchen bin only small bin provided.

Would help if the tall bin was duel for recycle rubbish too. Please be aware lights over hob are low they can be a hazard if you are tall. We had a lovely 4 days here and would recommend.

The only negative feedback we have is on the quality of the WiFi signal.

When the weather is poorer and relaxing in the accommodation there was no opportunity to use the smart TV. I believe the TV could not connect to the site guest WiFi and therefore we could not access the smart TV. Maybe the TV needs a software update?? All other aspects of our stay were excellent when compared to previous times we have stayed - swimming pool on site, location to Lyme Regis, Seaton & Beer and comfort of accommodation.

This is a lovely holiday lodge with everything you need we have been visiting Pinewoods for 30 years and seen lots of changes but the new lodges and the fabulous swimming pool make this a great place to holiday still.

Site is immaculate and kept very tidy and clean. The lodge is very spacious and comfortable our only comments would be needs hooks on back of doors especially bathrooms, a few more hangers in wardrobes would be nice!

Wonderful accommodation and location, within 20 mile radius you can visit Lyme Regis, charmouth, bridport, seaton, seatown(golden cap).

When we arrived we found a wardrobe door hanging on by 1 hinge only and we were unable to contact anyone either Sykes or Lyme Bay holidays as neither replied to phone calls made on the Saturday.

This was eventually sorted on the monday by going to reception as there is no reception during the weekend. This was dangerous as we had our grandson with us! Plus the hot water in the bath was luke warm although hot everywhere else, so I had to improvise by running the shower into the bath. We also found the towel rails were linked to the central heating so we then ended up with damp towels. The cleanliness was good but little things like sweeping under the sofa and washing the glass lampshade would make it a 5 star. The decking could have been swept and cleared of cobwebs and the cushions for the chairs were stained, also the dead plants could be removed . The hob was challenging to work out how to use even by reading the instructions. A very enjoyable holiday was had and the pool was used every day ( indoor) the outdoor pool was too cold it is a shame its not heated, the surroundings were peaceful and well maintained.

Ideal lodge contained everything that was required.

It brought back happy memories having stayed on the site last year with my late wife. This time a nice comfortable few days with my daughter.

On a two night stay, we entered the property at 4pm on Saturday to the overpowering smell of sewage coming from the main bedroom - this was traced to ensuite toilet.

Flushed toilet and ran taps but could not stay in property with the smell so went out. Returned to sewage smell so had an uncomfortable night's sleep on the sofa while ensuite door was left closed. Contacted customer support and after a long wait to get through was told no help available until Monday morning, after we were due to leave. Thankfully the smell subsided the next morning, but at £250 per night this is unacceptable treatment of customers. Positives - good indoor swimming pool, well appointed furnishings (although some bathroom components were loose), clean, modern property.

Advertised with WiFi but this doesn't actually work.

The park need to upgrade their network as it is not currently fit for purpose. Pack plenty of books because you won't be able to get online, there is no mobile signal either. The double bed is in the process of collapsing with large dents where the springs are giving up. It was probably quite comfortable at one point but not anymore. The level of cleanliness was variable, the hard floors were clean but the carpeted areas don't seem to have been hoovered before we arrived. Pinewood retreat itself was pretty and pleasant, the swimming pool was well maintained and the indoor pool was well heated.

Hazlewood 4 is an extremely comfortable lodge to stay in.

We have stayed in lots of cottages in our time but we couldn’t find any fault with this one! All the facilities are top notch and I want one of those wine fridges! The only omission was that we could have done with a clothes dryer to hang out wet swim wear. Also, we could have done with instructions on how to use the hob, but we worked it out in the end! Would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay and would like to stay again however there are few things that need attention!

- The double bed needs changing as it is worn, sinks and you can feel all of the springs - The single beds don’t suit/ fit adults, they are too short in length and very small - perhaps this should be advertised? - Please could you provide more coat hooks and some shoe storage. The storage cupboard near the door was full of stuff so we couldn’t use it - The ensuite shower has an issue with the tiles bulging and they will most likely come off the wall soon. When my husband had a shower he noticed a hole in the grout where the water was going in and behind. This was the large wall as you face the shower doors

The property was beautifully clean and felt like new.

Comfy bed and sofa and very spacious. The welcome pack was lovely and we felt very at home. Our only issue was the fact there was no access to a high chair on site so feeding our daughter was difficult. We didn’t think of this prior but we made it work. Great location to explore.

4 Hazelwood Pinewood Retreat: Just what we had hoped and planned for, quality accommodation, freedom no hotel could offer.

This holiday was a trial for us making a break from package holidays abroad and overpriced British hotels that never offer value and seldom offer comfort the result was a massive success. Accommodation was spacious, modern, comfortable with a home from home feel, exceptionally well kept, private, with fantastic pool facilities. Many thanks for a great stay this facility is a credit to your vision and commitment, we totally agree that further additions to facilities would change a wonderful environment. We had a lovely relaxing peaceful break at hazelwood 4 in pinewood retreat .

We were blown away by the standard and quality of the lodge and its fixtures and fittings . We would highly recommend this lodge , the retreat and the communal 2 pools to families who enjoy a relaxing break in tranquility . We were so impressed we are even talking of booking another break there . Also a big thank you for the welcome back with local produce , we were so thankful we even left presents ourself for the cleaner / owner . Very well equipped cottage and the addition of the welcome pack was a lovely touch.

The only feedback we have is that the single beds are quite high for small children so parents may wish to bring bed guards. Our 3yo ended up falling out of the bed in the night so we had to put the mattress on the floor. Otherwise our stay was perfect. Thank you

We found the lodge to be cold, there is obviously something wrong with the central heating, we had to use 3 convector heaters which were in a cupboard.

The duvets were to lightweight and the family were cold overnight. The bath water did not heat to a temperature that was hot enough to bathe in for our disabled grandson in. The area is lovely to explore and lots to do. The pool is excellent. The on-site manageress Wendy was exceptional. Have given ir 4 stars as set in a lovely area of Devon.

The WiFi on site was quite weak, so often had to not use it.

The listing describes the TV as a smart TV, but without a strong network for the TV to connect to it can’t be a smart TV. The above 2 points are very minor as our stay was very relaxing and the kids loved the swimming pool.

Disappointing quality and quantity of cutlery and crockery.

Pool taken out of service for last 3 days with no reason given.

Lovely lodge clean and everything you needed could not fault Bed and pillows were to soft for us but that’s a very personal thing.

Would highly recommend to anyone
