“Seascape is situated on the edge of Beer with lovely views of the village and out to sea.”

The accommodation has been well designed with the living area in the upper floor. It is a very quiet and peaceful location, with only a short walk to the village. Bob and Lorraine are extremely friendly and welcoming. They have an excellent knowledge of the local area and its numerous attractions. We have stayed in Seascape twice ( this time for 3 weeks) and have had a wonderful time. Go to the wonderful Beach cafes, Chapples and High Tide, you won’t regret it! We will return and ...

Great accommodation, beautiful views, and fantastic hosts. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed every stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The only downside is that, to enjoy those stunning views, you have to be prepared for the steep walk up to the property, but worth it.

“Lorraine and Bob were very welcoming.”

They helped us keep our electric bikes in their garage. The equipment in the kitchen was fine and the whole place was very clean and comfortable. Views were lovely from the balcony which overlooks the Bay at Beer. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage. There are stairs to get to the cottage and people with mobility problems may find it difficult.

Mattress comfort is always very personal, although due to guest satisfaction across all three of our coastal cottages, we recently invested in brand new hotel grade 1500 pocket sprung luxury mattresses throughout. They are designed to provide proper support and a premium hotel style sleep experience, rather than the softer feel of older, more worn mattresses. We quite often have guests asking where the mattresses are from so they can recreate the same sleep experience at home. Although we appreciate they may feel a little firmer for those accustomed to a well loved mattress. Delighted you otherwise found the property fabulous and well appointed. Lorraine Property Owner

“We stayed at Seascape in mid-March for a week.”

Our first time in Beer and we had a wonderful time. Seascape is in an ideal location and a short stroll down into Beer which has some good shops and pubs. We did not eat out, but they have some good eateries and 3 good pubs. Beer is a great place to base yourself to go to other places not too far away: Seaton (walkable along the Southwest Coast path), Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Branscombe, Sidmouth, Donkey Sanctuary (free and a nice walk down to the beach at Weston Mouth), Bridport, West Bay, Axminster etc. Accommodation was excellent and all very clean (shower was amazing, beds comfortable, kitchen facilities had all we needed and plenty of utensils). I was particularly impressed by the recycling which in other places we have stayed was non-existent. The owners Lorraine and Bob are lovely, helpful and friendly and very informative. We will visit Beer again and would be happy to stay at Seascape (or Beer View next to Seascape and run by Lorraine and Bob) if available.

Lovely views over Beer to the sea. Ideally located for a short wander down into Beer in the evening for a visit to one of the 3 local pubs. The owners, who live in the adjacent property, were extremely welcoming and helpful without ever intruding. All in all, we, 2 adults and one dog, had a wonderful break in a very nice property in a lovely location.

“Lovely house with amazing views over Beer, we really enjoyed our stay here.”

We couldn't really make too much use of the balcony seating area as it was cold, but this would be gorgeous in summer to sit out first thing in the morning with a coffee soaking up the view. The sofa was so comfortable, I would love to know where it is from so that we can look to buy one! Great to find a property with parking as well as it is limited in Beer.

“Beautiful property in a quiet and peaceful elevated position in the lovely village of Beer.”

Just a 5-10 minute walk down into the village where there were plenty of amenities, pubs and restaurants for our day to day needs. Very clean and well appointed with everything that we needed. “We were very happy at Seascape cottage.”

The cottage itself is beautiful, sitting on a great spot with cracking views down to the sea, lovely gardens and countryside views all around. Inside it is very spacious and spotlessly clean. All appliances, utensils, crockery and furnishings are of a high standard. Bathrooms are both spotless and modern with good powerful showers and a bath. Private off road parking is also a big plus and the owners Bob and Lorraine are great, so friendly and welcoming. Also very knowledgeable about the area with regards to eating out and things to do. “Seascape is in the most incredible location, perched above Beer and from the wrap around balcony on the first floor there are simply incredible views of the village.”

To the rear there are fields with an array of wildlife - rabbits, pheasants, a charm of goldfinches, kestrel, butterflies, bees, wildflowers and ponies. It is so peaceful and beautiful you may not want to leave the balcony. If you do manage to drag yourself away you'll need to save some energy to walk to and from the village but the walk is worth it. Beer has everything you need, beach, boats, restaurants, gallery, gift shops, pubs and a village shop. The owners are the cherry on the top - they are so knowledgeable and helpful. If you need anything you only have to ask. We felt like old friends by the time we left.

Beer is a small picturesque fishing village on the south Devon coast near Seaton. The shingle beach is very sheltered, backed by limestone cliffs and was once fertile smuggling territory, plus contraband was hidden in nearby caves, which are now a popular tourist attraction.
