“Access to the apartment is very much lacking in kerb appeal because it is located next to a derilict hotel.”
The owner (and town principals) have campaigned for many years for the hotel owners to improve the site with no success. This does not affect the comfort and cleanliness of the apartment.
The parking space is an enormous benifit. You should however be aware that the walk to the space requires one to negotiate a very steep hill that demands a reasonable level of fitness.
The downgrading of the 'facilities and maintenance' is really a temporary standard because building works were being carried out, requiring scaffolding that restricted acccess to the garden. Similarly, the house access keys are made available from Wessex House and we drove up, down, and around trying to find the office using the instructions provided. The search came to an end when we found the location that had the name covered with building materials whilst undergoing repairs.
On he plus side is the location and the way the apartment is equipped. It is a large space and the affable owner lives on site but does not interfere. We had an enjoyable holiday with a bonus that adjacent to the apartment is a bakery that produces brilliant pastries that are reduced to clear from 4.30 each afternoon. Enjoy.
We are glad that you enjoyed your holiday despite the scaffold. We are delighted to say that all the scaffolding has now been removed and we thank everyone for their patience.
We also wanted to say, don't worry about the "kerb appeal" as you arrive - we are proud to be hidden away and once you are inside, as you see from the photos it is a lovely Georgian house with Bay windows with fabulous sea views.
Do make sure you find LBH first so you can pick up your keys on the way down to us - plus you can unload and load your car outside any time.
All the best
