“Access to the apartment is very much lacking in kerb appeal because it is located next to a derilict hotel.”

The owner (and town principals) have campaigned for many years for the hotel owners to improve the site with no success. This does not affect the comfort and cleanliness of the apartment. The parking space is an enormous benifit. You should however be aware that the walk to the space requires one to negotiate a very steep hill that demands a reasonable level of fitness. The downgrading of the 'facilities and maintenance' is really a temporary standard because building works were being carried out, requiring scaffolding that restricted acccess to the garden. Similarly, the house access keys are made available from Wessex House and we drove up, down, and around trying to find the office using the instructions provided. The search came to an end when we found the location that had the name covered with building materials whilst undergoing repairs. On he plus side is the location and the way the apartment is equipped. It is a large space and the affable owner lives on site but does not interfere. We had an enjoyable holiday with a bonus that adjacent to the apartment is a bakery that produces brilliant pastries that are reduced to clear from 4.30 each afternoon. Enjoy.

Sea Tree House

Sea Tree House is a Grade II listed Georgian Townhouse situated in the picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis, Dorset with stunning sea views along the Jurassic Coast to Portland and overlooking the iconic Cobb. Providing traditional accommodation for couples and small families, the building itself has a very interesting history being as a gentleman's residence in the mid 1800s; previously, the property was a boarding house where Jane Austen is believed to have stayed in 1804 and views of the Cobb may have inspired her to write the book 'Persuasion'. Currently arranged as apartments, both Tulip Tree and Tamarind Tree retain a host of character features typical of its period including large bay windows (with lovely sea views to the Cobb), high ceilings, panelled doors, picture rails, deep skirting boards, sash windows, ornate cornices, fine main staircase and fireplaces. These one-bedroom apartments are centrally located close to the beaches, independent shops and restaurants. The area is a haven for walkers and the South West coast path provides visitors with many walking opportunities taking in pretty seaside towns and villages plus stunning scenic views of the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline. With private parking within a short walk from Sea Tree House, this is an idea base from which to enjoy all that this popular town has to offer.
