“We had an amazing, fantastic break in Lyme Regis.”
A lovely, spacious converted barn in a beautiful setting. It is modern, clean, and fully equipped with the latest eco friendly gadgets. We pack like we are moving house, as you never know what self-catering accommodation may or may not have. There was absolutely nothing missing from our tick list. In fact, it surpassed our expectations. Our hosts Ian and Sue were most welcoming, from when we arrived and throughout our stay. There was a lovely welcoming pack with some local goodies and treats. We had the opportunity to feed the Alpacas on site, the children in particular were most excited! Sue is like a walking Alpaca encyclopaedia! Sue generously gave a story book each to the children called ‘Alpaca Chatter’ which she authored! We also met their 3 lovely dogs. Our son is into dinosaurs and fossils. Ian kindly showed some of the fossils that he had, which our son was in complete awe. Sue also showed our daughter some of her crafting work, which our daughter loves. My husband was most interested (and amazed) by the solar power set up, it had some thing for everyone! There are a few paths linked to the main coastal path directly from the barn, which we used to walk into Lyme Regis. It’s about a 15/20 min walk, for most of our break we didn’t use the car much. The local attractions were close by, so not far in the car depending on what you want to do. We thoroughly had an excellent break and ‘the cherry on top’ was to return to such a wonderful base after a full day of various activities. Both our children did not want to leave, it was a very dramatic.. ‘why can’t we stay … pleaseeeeee!’ (but neither did the grown ups want to leave!). Thank you Sue and Ian for your hospitality, we most certainly will be coming back when we return to Lyme Regis.
