“Cottage was superb as usual (we have stayed in it several times).”
Just one gripe: the under cabinet led lights in the kitchen (essential in a room with little natural light) did not work. Pre-merger with Sykes it was relatively easy to contact someone and report maintenance issues and someone would come out right away. Post- the Sykes merger - it feels like this side of things has been overlooked. If you promise that someone will come out - then they should. We might have waited in the cottage until someone came! Either that or just be honest: "Under cabinet lights are a bit low on our agenda right now so its unlikely we'll even tell Mr or Mrs Fixit this week, but thanks for letting us know". Hopefully the new owner of Appletree Cottage will fix them though, and perhaps give the lovely garden a bit of a trim as its looking a bit overgrown! Lastly the lounge smelled of dogs which is probably nice for dog owners but not for us! Otherwise a great relaxing stay in a lovely cottage.
