“Overall it was an enjoyable stay.”
there are a few issues with the hut, (it is by no stretch a 'cottage') that are in the most part easily fixed and would really improve the place.
Pros:
- clean and tidy.
- nicely tiled floors throughout.
- all the basic kitchen amenities you could need were there and in good working order.
- the bed was not bad, weird mattress but it was comfortable.
- the shower enclosure was free from mold which you often get in these types of places
- water pressure was great
- nice and quiet ...

- the bed was not bad, weird mattress but it was comfortable.
- the shower enclosure was free from mold which you often get in these types of places
- water pressure was great
- nice and quiet location, yet close to everything you need
- had no issues with the shared outside space.
- all the seating was very comfortable, the reclining sofa was a nice touch.
Cons:
- all blinds broken to varying degrees, it was a heatwave and could not block out sun in the day, get it fixed.
- one bedroom window would not open as the latch was faulty, those latches cost about ÂŁ8, get it fixed.
- shower head pole that attached it to the wall, broken, shower head would not stay upright, its a cheap thing to replace, get it fixed.
- not wardrobe, I get it, the place is small, but the clothes rail provided was broken (spot the theme?) so i had to 'fix' it before we could unpack.
- TV in living room was broken, the screen had a large white area in the middle of the screen which ruined the picture.
- its not 2015, get WiFi.
- the bathroom is down some quite steep steps, sure there is a reason why it had to be built like that but it was quite awkward to go down, especially at night in the dark!
- the instructions on how to find the place, the absence of a sign on the gate (why would you not put a sign on the gate?!) and the confusing parking were poorly done and needs to be revised.
All in all it was 'OK', we go to Lyme to be by the sea, not in the accommodation.
That being said with a few easy and mostly cheap fixing the overall experience would be much better, best part of ÂŁ400 for a few nights, at last minute pricing isn't cheap and the cons listed above made it impossible to say it was worth the money.
to be clear, it was more than adequate for us and our needs during our short stay in the July 2025 heatwave, nothing ruined the holiday, or made it a bad place to stay. would we go back? no, would we recommend it? no.
