    Beautiful little welcome pack. Very well appointed cottage and a lovely quiet location. Spacious so we could spread out from each other and the kids loved setting up their stuff in the conservatory. Lots of things in the kitchen, utensils etc which made cooking very easy. Full size fridge and freezer and a wine fridge. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms are a great size - easy to bathe kids etc. Garden was lovely, safe and secure for the kids and they loved running round it. The ...

Spacious so we could spread out from each other and the kids loved setting up their stuff in the conservatory. Lots of things in the kitchen, utensils etc which made cooking very easy. Full size fridge and freezer and a wine fridge. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms are a great size - easy to bathe kids etc. Garden was lovely, safe and secure for the kids and they loved running round it. The house is very well insulated, so did retain the heat from the day, but cools quite quickly if you open all the windows. We brought a fan with us, but would be handy if there was one in the cottage. Washing machine and utility room was an excellent touch - saved us many hours when we got home! Dining room chairs, although they look beautiful aren't so comfy after a while - but that was our only whinge. It's a country location so expected - but there is a local cockerel who gives the most beautiful vocal displays in the morning. Only a fifteen minute drive to the coast which we made full use of every day. If you're going fossil hunting at Charmouth worth going to the discovery/education centre by the car park first to get all the tips you need first. We found some beautiful ammonites which the children are thrilled with. Would book again.

South Glebe is a wonderfully presented, detached house located in the rural village of Hawkchurch, Set within its own grounds this delightful home was built by CG Fry and Son (builders of the renowned Poundbury estate in Dorchester owned by the Duchy of Cornwall). Situated between the three AONB’s Blackdown Hills, East Devon, and Dorset, and enjoying far-reaching countryside views, South Glebe is a fabulous pet-friendly choice for a group or family of six. On the outskirts of the village, be sure to visit the stunning National Trust site of Lambert’s Castle and Coney’s Castle, both affording breath-taking views. For the keen walkers the South West Coastal Footpath offers a wealth of scenic walks with incomparable views of the Jurassic Coast and countryside. Take a trip to nearby Forde Abbey House and Gardens where a leisurely stroll through its award-winning gardens is recommended, Nearby Lyme Regis with its family friendly beach and famous Cobb harbour, is a great day out. Explore the Lyme Regis Museum and learn about the areas rich fossil hunting history before trying to find your own fossils on the beach. Axminster 4 miles; Lyme Regis 6.9 miles.

Hawkchurch is a village in Devon, England, 3 miles north east of Axminster on the border of Devon and Dorset, and about 6 miles south of Somerset. It is 4 miles north of the tourist and fishing village of Lyme Regis. Hawkchurch has a village shop which is run as a community venture. The village pub, The Old Inn, is a traditional coaching house and a hostelry which has been on the site since 1543. Nearby Axminster, which is one of Devon’s prettiest smaller towns, and has many attractions, including plenty of privately owned shops, a weekly market and excellent old inns, with one dating back 100 years with its own resident ghost! The seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer visitors with many craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind. Where ever you decide, Hawkchurch is an ideal place to enjoy with easy access to many areas around Dorset and Devon at any time of the year.
