Ivy Cottage

We didn't think the house was particularly clean.

Mirrors streaked, sticky coffee table in sitting room, thick layer of dust under bed. It was clean on the surface..... Apart from that, the property was as expected and an excellent position with parking. Even a small sunny patio

We have stayed in Ivy Cottage a Number of times.

Its ideal for our needs for the weeks break,

Loved the cottage.

Easy to walk to the seafront. The parking was a tad tight but we managed. Part of our group ran the Exe to Axe run and completed it in a personal best time for both so it was a very nice weekend. I have lost a pair of glasses and have been able to contact anybody so see if I have left them at the cottage. Lost property on the Sykes website is not easy to navigate.

It was in a great location and felt very welcoming.

Having parking spaces for two cars was a real bonus. A tricky garden for an old dog to manage. Would definitely visit again.

We have stayed at Ivy Cottage several times we find it warm spacious and comfortable.

The kitchen is well equipped but could do with a measuring jug, the cottage is close to the village in walking distance and several eateries. We have noticed that the Yale lock is very loose on the front door and the bathroom smells a little damp and the Lino is lifting up in front of the bath, other than that we love Ivy Cottage and hopefully be back next year. Q

We have been to Ivy Cottage four years running including last Christmas the cottage is ideal for the village and even our dog settles in quickly.

After a long drive the welcome pack is much appreciated.

Ivy Cottage is a brilliant cottage for a holiday in Beer.

The location is amazing as so close to the village and it has parking too. We stayed last year too and it was a shame that none of the niggly issues had not been resolved a year later. The mattresses really need replacing and simple things like decent lightbulbs are an easy fix. The property is dog friendly but beware that a dog can get to the road by going next door, as the garden steps are shared. A little TLC could bring this cottage back up to five stars,

The property is well equipped, very clean and everything you need.

The only thing I would say is the garden needs sorting out.

Ivy Cottage is situated in the ideal spot close to village centre and has it's own off road parking.

The accommodation is ideal for a family stay. We have stayed there before and will try to book again in the future.

Ivy cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed the outside space for reading and dining in fine weather. The car parking is invaluable and Ivy Cottage is close enough to the beach and village high street to enjoy the short stroll back. We will book again.

The cottage is lovely warm and comfortable, the kitchen utensils were great although a measuring jug wouldn’t go a miss.

The bath mat was covered in black mould, the toilet I had to clean myself, and the toilet brush is disgusting, shower works ok,but is very scaled, the double bedroom had lots of dust under the bed and in the corners. Although we were disappointed with the cleanliness in some areas, we would still come back as we love the cottage.

We were delighted with our stay.

Ivy cottage was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable, very well equipped with ample new crockery and cutlery. We enjoyed the outside space and were pleased with the ample parking space onsite for a large car.

Lovely cottage and position , disappointing that we had to call Sykes to ask for the toilet seat , outside furniture and kitchen sink to be cleaned .

I provided photos of the problems . Sykes sent out the covering cleaner, when we were out , the toilet and outside furniture was cleaned but not the kitchen sink , I advised Sykes I would clean the sink as it was less hassle for us . The beds were clean and the welcome bag was a nice touch . Hope the housekeeping works well for the next guests

We had a lovely time at Ivy Cottage.

It was well-equipped, cosy and the position was perfect. We agree with other renters that the space outside the cottage can only be described as suitable for one car. We were worried about the shower screen which is not very secure and so water leaks onto the floor (the flooring is lifting by the bath). Overall we thought the bathroom was a bit tired. Also, the mattress in the loft room is extremely uncomfortable (thin and lumpy). None of this detracted from our stay and we'd definitely come back.

Ivy cottage is a lovely airy cottage, it’s very comfortable, , ,the kitchen and utensils were well equipped , it was easy to keep clean downstairs with our 4 legged friend, our only 2 things I would say we would have loved to have slept in the attic room but it was very hot and we were unable to open the window, the other little thing was the washing machine door is very hard to close, but it did not ruin our stay,in fact we loved ivy cottage so much we have booked already for next year.

Another plus is it’s a short walk to the village.

This is a beautiful little cottage which has everything you need.

The only 2 things that let the place down slightly is 1. The back patio and furniture could do with a good sweep and hose down as it is quite dirty and looks like it has not been touched for sometime. And 2 is the top bedroom in the attic it’s got no ventilation and it gets very very hot it could do with the skylight being modified so it can open slightly just so the heat can escape. But apart from that the place itself is perfect and highly recommended and will be staying there again in October.

The only problem we had was that the bushes on the neighbouring drive were overhanging so made getting out of the car a bit difficult.

we did have 2 cars and we knew it would be a tight space but that didn't help. Also front door was very stiff to open and inner door didnt shut properly but probably expected with an old house.

Enjoyed our stay again. Only thing missing was oven gloves - maybe this is because of covid restrictions?

The property was great.

Very clean and it had everything you needed. Good quality bedding and towels . Location was ideal too. The welcome pack was a very nice touch. We had a wonderful holiday. Thank you.

Lovely week, no real problems, but several minor things need addressing in the property: 1.

Trim on end of worktop near back door sticks out and can catch on clothing, needs replacing. 2. Cutlery drawer tends to come off its runners because the left-hand side panel has come away from its fixings. 3. My wife and I had the twin beds. Both of them creak alarmingly at the slightest movement; this is not conducive to a good night's sleep. 4. We needed to wash the patio table and chairs before use as they had not been cleaned for a while.
