Description

Located in the heart of the quaint seaside town of Lyme Regis, Dorset, 1 Dolphin Cottages offers characterful accommodation close to the town centre, beaches, and famous Cobb harbour. This pet-friendly cottage is the perfect base for a family or couple looking to holiday in Dorset at any time of the year.

Once forming part of Lyme’s many inns and converted back to cottages, Dolphin Cottage retains much charm and offers characterful accommodation with bright and airy décor throughout. The sitting room houses an ornamental fireplace, tasteful furniture, and a window seat, where you can enjoy your favourite book, or watch the world go by. Rustle up a family dinner in the freshly styled kitchen with all of the amenities to assist you in your self-catering requirements.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a spacious king-size bedroom at the front of the cottage and a smaller bedroom, with bunk beds, located at the rear. The bright family bathroom is also located on this floor and has a bath with shower over, ideal for a refreshing morning shower before you begin your day.

Outside the garden, located at the rear of the property, is a peaceful place to enjoy the sun, or evening drinks. Mainly gravel with a patio area and mature cottage planting, this delightful space provides the opportunity to dine alfresco during the warmer months of the year. The cottage is set back from the hustle and bustle of the town but is in quiet street with fairly level access to the sea, only a short stroll away.

Lyme Regis is a thriving seaside town full of amazing activities and intriguing history and is well known for being the heart of the Jurassic Coast, where visitors can enjoy walks along the seafront and south west coast path, as well as spending time on the beaches with the family perhaps finding fossils amongst the rocky shores. If you wish to know more about the prehistoric world hidden beneath the rocks, take a visit to Dinosaurland Fossil Museum in Lyme Regis or the Heritage Coast Centre at Charmouth. The area offers a great selection of eateries, restaurants and pubs, many of which showcase local food and beverages, and there are also ample independent stores selling local art and craft to be explored.

Other popular days out include the Axe Valley Wildlife Park or the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth, which is open throughout the year.

Make a family holiday you will remember with a stay at 1 Dolphin Cottages.

We came with our 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 year old daughters.

The four of us had a quite delightful time in this lovely cottage. All amenities, perfect location. Very well presented cottage with clean towels, linen. Perfect for a 6 day stay. Kids loved the Jurassic coast, especially Monmouth Beach, a walk away. We were lucky with perfect weather. First time in Lyme Regis. Loved the rich history and great restaurants. Perfect stay. Thank you!

Wonderful 6 day stay at this property.

Email with all information we needed sent immediately upon payment. 5 mins walk to the beach, 3min walk from Tesco for supplies.. be aware it's up a very steep hill! 1 minute walk from the dinosaur museum. 1 Car park space at the rear of property, which is a must because the car parks were very expensive. £17.50 a day in some! Slight struggle on the first day to park initially as the cottage next door had a large car parked in the spot next to us & the gate to the parking area is very tight. Very comfy beds, WiFi & TV for the kids. Welcome folder full of information in. Gift bag with goodies on arrival which was lovely. Our only negatives were there was quite a few cobwebs & spiders in shared entrance to property & a few inside the property. The living room rug still had some dog hairs within it also. The garden at the rear of the property needed some attention, lots of dead plants and weeds. If your planning on staying in and cooking meals, we had to buy our own tin foil, sugar, salt & pepper etc which we thought may have been provided. But overall wonderful family vacation. Would highly recommend for a family visiting Lyme Regis.
