    “Nice, modern house.”

Well equipped with off road parking. Clean and comfortable. Location is about 2/3 of a mile from the harbour and beach. Be prepared for a 300 yard steep walk back to the house if you walk into town. There’s an alternate route through the local cemetery that avoids most of the hill but makes it about a mile each way. Lyme Regis is a fun place to visit. The beaches are full of fossil interest, particularly Monmouth Beach at low tide. We were surprised at how busy it was, mid-week in mid-May ...

We were surprised at how busy it was, mid-week in mid-May. I dread to think what it would be like Bank Holiday weekend in August. “The Ship” inn had the best fried fish of the 3 places we tried . Some nice cliff top walks to the east of the town. Stonebarrow Hill is National Trust and has great coastal views. It’s at the end of a longish drive along a very narrow country road so be prepared for a reversal or two into a passing place. Hive Beach is another NT property that offers a walk to Cogden Beach that is miles long. Great dog walking and the sea worn stones on the beach are beautiful and varied. We had a good 4 night break. Would stay again, if we can find a less busy time and now that we know about the cemetery cutout route to avoid the hill!
