Upon arrival you will find this fantastic blue painted cottage emerging from a quaint row of terrace cottages and be eager to make yourself at home.
Settle down for a brew in the fantastic sitting aera, shrouded in heritage with a stone feature wall, ornamental fireplace, vintage furniture and roofbeams made from dark wood, along with stylish sofas and wooden flooring and within the same room you will find a dining table, perfect for breakfast before heading out to the bay, and there is a quirky metal railing lining the staircase leading up to the first floor.
When stomachs start to rumble, you will simply love your self-catering experience in this tastefully outfitted kitchen where contemporary grey cupboards contrast perfectly with stone walls and old wooden doors, inspiring you to rustle up a storm with a taste of the local area, and there is an additional sitting area beside a stunning stain glass half-moon window, perfect for morning coffee.
Enjoy a refreshing shower or a soak amongst the bubbles in a spacious bathroom with blue walls and tiled flooring bringing with it a splash of seaside blue.
Two bedrooms offer a place to snuggle down for the night, starting with a double room with homely décor and a twin room perfect for children.
Outside, you can have lunch in the seaside air on the patio provided.
If it is beaches that you are looking for, then Lyme Regis has these in abundance, beginning with Cliff Bay Beach and harbour just a short walk from the property, and a little further you will find Monmouth Beach and Lyme Regis Fossil Beach where you can search amongst the rocky shore for a glimpse into the past or try out kayaking in the waves.
The town centre offers two museums, an aquarium, local craft and artwork shops to create a great family day out, and if you travel a little further you will find the amazing Axe Valley Wildlife Park before ending the day in one of the local restaurants with a delicious meal for the whole family.

Bedrock cottage is a fantastic cottage.
This is the second time we have stopped here ( previously in 2023). The cottage continues to be well maintained. The cottage is well presented downstairs in a through room of original bricks and quirky areas with 2 amazing original fireplaces. The furniture is of good quality and comfy.The kitchen is of a good standard, very smart with all the utensils required plus a washing machine and tablets. There is a really lovely little annexe in the kitchen with a stain glass window and chairs and a table as a breakfast area. Upstairs is very comfortable. Both bedrooms are nicely furnished. The bathroom is large and in good order. This cottage has some lovely pictures, mirrors, lamps and ornamental pieces making it a lovely place to stay. The front of the cottage is beautiful and so peaceful in its setting. I was disappointed to find that since our first stay, absolutely nothing had changed in the rear garden/ yard. As a stay during the summer months, I do expect to spend time outside particularly as the south of England is generally a good climate. The yard looked exactly as it did 3 years ago. Old garden furniture not set out but propped against the wall. No plants, pots or garden features / decorations. If the flags were jet washed they’d look great. I’m sure like myself, others might like an outside space for a glass of wine in the evening or brunch. ( we stop in Sykes cottages regularly and the garden area is always in good order). Im not sure if welcome packs have stopped, but we didn’t receive one this time. I do highly recommend this gorgeous cosy cottage in a fantastic location on Monmouth street. Only 5 minutes. walk from the beach, shops, restaurants and pubs.
Lovely cottage, The property was very noisy, next doors dog barking, window cleaner turned up unannounced at 8 o’clock one morning while we were in bed / just getting up.
The property caters for 4 there was one 1 teaspoon and 3 knives? We wouldn’t stay at this property again
Bedrock is a very nice house in a brilliant location for getting around Lyme Regis.
It's a lot larger than other houses we have stayed in around the same area and the kitchen was well equipped. I have given a lower rating for comfort as the beds were very uncomfortable. I have found this with most places we have booked and it has unfortunately become an expectation now....a poor night sleep with a painful back the next day. The house was generally pretty clean, but then you see the head of the bed and areas away from the centre of rooms, where dust has accumulated. It's not overly dirty, but it's clear that it's given a quick clean in between bookings rather than being given a deep clean. We have been visiting Lyme Regis for years and stay in a different house each time. Bedrock is probably one of the nicer ones. However, Monmouth Street has become overly noisy (as has Lyme Regis itself). The level of noise from people out drinking etc continued until early hours and being at the Church Street end, you get the noise from the through traffic. This has become more ridiculous over the last couple of years, too, as the number of cars cruising with loud engines and music has doubled. It's is unfortunately, as the area is nice, but the people travelling through make the area unbearably noisy at times. Also, as with most of the houses here, there is no double glazing and the seagulls never rest!
