“We stayed at a lovely cottage right in front of the entrance to Hook Farm Camping Site, and overall it was a really nice experience.”
Even when the campsite was busy, the cottage remained peaceful and quiet. The interior was nicely decorated, very comfortable, and the shower and bath were great. Cleanliness throughout was good, and the kitchen was well equipped and spotless. One nice touch was the welcome pack which was full of local delights.
The only downside was the dining area — the table was small and a bit wobbly, and the chairs weren’t very comfortable. With only five of us, it felt quite cramped at mealtimes.
On the plus side, the living room and bedroom offered lovely views, and the south-facing back garden was a real highlight, with outdoor seating for sunny days. Parking could be improved — for a cottage that sleeps a family of six, having space for at least two cars would make a big difference.
A nice thing throughout was the campsite shop, which offered fresh bread and a few essentials. Also during the weekend there were vans with different foods depending on the day, which was very nice to have in case we didn’t want to cook that day.
Overall, it’s a charming and comfortable place to stay, with just a few small adjustments that could make it even better.
We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Hook Farm Cottage. We hope you can come and stay again. We are fortunate to have a parking space unlike many of the holiday rentals. When the campsite is open we can offer additional paid parking.
