“Overall a good stay.”

First impressions very clean and tidy, great location, parking was a bonus, lovely welcome hamper too. The beds were super comfortable so we all slept great. Disappointingly the conservatory becomes absolutely baking and renders it completely unusable in the afternoons, which makes the kitchen hard to use too as they are joined on. Only other point to note is when we were checking out we looked under the sofa and the beds to check if we had left anything behind and they needed a good clean, ...

Only other point to note is when we were checking out we looked under the sofa and the beds to check if we had left anything behind and they needed a good clean, dusty with old sweet wrappers and tissues so we were a bit shocked

“Excellent. Well equipped and everything good quality.”

The only slight problem was the 10.5 tog duvets in the current weather. All we really needed was a sheet! A barbecue might also have been nice.

“Little Ascot is a nice small bungalow situated on the edge of Lyme Regis on a busy rural lane.”

The beds are very comfortable, the shower is fantastic. The gardens front and back are very small and the gardens are mostly enclosed. The driveway is on a steepish slope which can be tricky when parking and turning your vehicle round. There are several steps up the property which can be tricky if you have mobility issues. My holiday was a very hot week in July and although very effective fans were supplied it was cooler outside than within the property most of the time.

Having space to park 3 cars if necessary is a bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to everyone.

“Due to the layout of the property and the hot weather, half of the house was unusable for our stay.”

The entrance is the conservatory in the picture which includes the kitchen and dining room. Arriving at 4pm these rooms were still at over 30 degrees and remained that way until gone 9 every evening. When we arrived the door to the rest of the house had been left open then the rest of the house was similar which took until later that evening to call. This meant we weren't able to eat in that room, play games in the evening, and had to rush into and out of the kitchen to use it at any time.. There was one fan in the house but we had to purchase additional fans for the rest of the house to get any sleep. Whilst dog friendly, due to the temperature in and out we couldn't really leave him inside for any time. The two garden are smaller than expected (the one in the picture is the front and the back sight smaller). We had purposely chosen the property so our two 10 year olds could play football in the evenings but there was no space for either.

“A gorgeous place just a short walk from the town of Lyme Regis.”

It was a perfect base for all of the towns activities on new years day, we strolled down to the duck race on the river which was a 10 minute walk and then on into town to see the sea swim, again another 10-15 minutes. The house is a lot bigger than it looks online and is perfect. Only comments would be lighting in the conservatory area is a little dull and there were no baking sheets to cook our food. Other than the above, would highly recommend and visit again.

“What a lovely little retreat this place is.”

Its just a shame its let down by the cleaning. Dust/webs under the sofas/tv and even a false nail in the bedroom. We still enjoyed our stay with great amenities close by and everything you need at little ascot whilst your away. Very quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed our walks into town/beach twice a day. Thankyou for having us

“Had a wonderful stay at Little Ascot, beds so comfortable, plenty of crockery and cutlery, ate all our meals in the front garden!”

The conservatory does get really hot, there was a good Dyson fan supplied, maybe some smaller fans for the bedrooms, although the socket situation in the bedrooms is not brilliant. A lovely welcome package (curtesy of Lyme Bay Holidays), one of the best I have ever had! Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Lyme .

“This property was fantastic, a good size for three adults to relax in the evening and eat, and nice garden furniture.”

Really impressed with the cleanliness and that everything had been thought of, a well-stocked cutlery drawer and more glasses and mugs than even we managed to use. The beds were very comfortable. The welcome pack was great, much appreciated - especially the ground coffee, and there was a good cafetiere to use it in.

“This is a lovely property in a peaceful location.”

Everything we needed was provided. The garden was dog friendly and she also enjoyed the walk along the river to Uplyme. Lyme Regis and beaches within easy walking distance. The only issue we had was with the gas hob, although we followed the instructions we were only able to light one ring, if you are planning to cook during your stay I would take this into consideration when planning your meals.

In a great position, slightly out of town, which was quite busy being half term, so being in a quiet area was great. Great property for the dog. We have stayed in a few other properties, which have some extras, such as books and games, old dog towels and beach equipment, just a consideration.

Was very comfortable and everything we needed, the third bedroom could do with extra sockets but we were lucky to have brought an extension lead. Otherwise we could not fault the property, looking forward to our next trip. Home from home, and really only a short walk which was lovely to Lyme.

Other than that it was a lovely cottage in an excellent location within walking distance for our 2 small children to get to the beach. One issue with the drain was fixed promptly by the maintenance team which was very good.

“Lovely bungalow with all the facilities needed for a great home from home feel, and very clean.”

Beds were incredibly comfortable and shower was very easy to use. Washing machine came in useful for wet towels. Enclosed garden was ideal for our dog, although road was a little dangerous.

“We had a great week away at Little Ascot!”

The photo’s on the site don’t do it justice. Fabulous location, really lovely property which has everything you need, clean accommodation, enclosed front and back garden for our Spaniel who loved exploring, and parking for 2/3 cars. We arrived to a wonderful Welcome Pack which was really thoughtful - the biscuits and fudge were amazing!!! Walked into Lyme Regis every day (most days twice) and the walk from the property to town is mobility scooter friendly! Would definitely recommend this bungalow and hope to revisit. The only negative was the gas cooker - really need to get this sorted as incredibly frustrating when unable to light the rings - even though we followed the instructions clearly. Having a diabetic in the family, timing is essential so taking 10 minutes to light the rings sometimes was really not good. Sort this and it’s 10/10.

The location is spot on and the garden is secure and safe for the dog. The mattress on the double bed in the main bedroom isnt the best but other than that we cant fault it.

“Lovely bungalow ideal for our family.”

Secure gardens back and front for the dog. Lovely and clean, bedding etc., only thing we noticed wobbly tap in the small toilet over the "Big" sink which was ideal for us and the others used the shower room more. Too hilly for us old ones to walk to Lyme but the younger members did it even twice a day, really pretty location, nice neighbours, thank you.

“Clean, modern comfortable bungalow about 15 mins walk from the harbour.”

Good kitchen with plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils, good shower and comfortable beds. Heating was a bit confusing and it would have been good to have an extra sheet for the beds as the duvet was quite hot. The house is tucked in between two other houses which are quite close, but we weren't disturbed. Small garden front and back. Nice, light conservatory at the front for meals. TV with Netflix and a gas fire. The hosts very kindly left milk, tea, biscuits etc as a welcome gift. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

“The accommodation is well looked after and comfortable.”

The only cutlery available on our arrival was six knives and one teaspoon. We visited Tesco Axminster and bought four forks and teaspoons. We left these on departure. It would also have been useful to have had use of a sharp knife. Cooking knives were not available. More of a nuisance was the lack of working hob rings. We were only successful in getting one lit and remain lit. The other three would light but then go out as soon as you allowed the knob to rise after ignition.

“The bungalow was very convenient for access to the beach and town.”

It was very clean and comfortable and we very much enjoyed our stay. One minor point. We had great difficulty getting the gas hob to light and only managed to get the 2 front ones lit.

“We love staying at Little Ascot and this year the modernisation of the shower room was a welcome surprise.”

Time has now come for the most important alteration of all....the conservatory roof. During the summer months the kitchen/conservatory become unbearable with the temperature at times hitting 49 C rendering the area unusable as the sun beats directly through the large glass roof.. Everything else at “LA” is perfect for us including the lovely walk along the river to the beach, we spent another fabulous fortnight here and hope our comments help to make the experience even better in the future. Excellent location for Lyme Regis town and beach which is a short walk along the river. If you go the other way it is a 1m walk to Uplyme and the Talbot Arms which has a great cavery on a Sunday (need to book). We have a large dog and the house was fine with enclosed gardens back and front. Great location for dog walks. Clean and modern with everything that you need (no pint glasses) to enjoy your stay.
