“On a two night stay, we entered the property at 4pm on Saturday to the overpowering smell of sewage coming from the main bedroom - this was traced to ensuite toilet.”
Flushed toilet and ran taps but could not stay in property with the smell so went out. Returned to sewage smell so had an uncomfortable night's sleep on the sofa while ensuite door was left closed.
Contacted customer support and after a long wait to get through was told no help available until Monday morning, after we were due to leave. Thankfully the smell subsided the next morning, but at £250 per night this is unacceptable treatment of customers.
Positives - good indoor swimming pool, well appointed furnishings (although some bathroom components were loose), clean, modern property.

We are sorry to hear this, the Park Manager has since been in contact to advise that the fields behind the lodge were muck sprayed the day of your arrival and that the toilet is in good working order. We apologise for any inconvenience but as I am sure you can appreciate, the lodge is located near open country side which is farmed by a local farmer. Thank you for your comments.
