“The balcony was inaccessible because a 12 foot cladding board had fallen off blocking access.”

I moved it but the balcony was unusable because all the furniture was filthy and covered in bird droppings. All of the windows were filthy. I had one query so I phoned the management company (as suggested by Sykes). Its automated reply redirected me to Sykes, who promptly referred me back to the management company. I gave up and left early. It is a nice flat though and could be ideal if properly managed.

“Booking process and cleanliness were exemplary.”

Facilities were more than adequate with everything you'd reasonably need for a week or two's vacation available. Couple of issues with the balcony's wooden doors not opening and rain ingress (which probably contributed to the stuck doors). These were still unresolved when we left which was a pity as it would have been nice to have use of the balcony on the sunny days we did have during the month we we there. Booking agency responded promptly to the extractor fan failing in the bathroom and a dead spotlight bulb.

“The perfect stay.”

The flat was just as described, with a lovely view and convenient private parking. We loved the very well equipped kitchen with top quality pans and crockery, an efficient dishwasher and induction hob. Great location in a friendly seaside town. We are fit and healthy pensioners so the flights of stairs up to the second floor didn’t bother us.

“Delightful penthousr appartment with stunning sunrises and sets.”

Only downside is that sink is very difficult to use if over 5ft tall due to beam being in the way. Happy to test drive some new facilities in what must be an almost brand new kitchen. Will certainly return with friends maybe next time to our new secret retreat. Thanks for having us!!!!

“The steep/narrow hall stairs and the same in the flat presented a huge problem for us both as we are in our 80’s.”

Your description is not a sufficient warning as to the difficulties we encountered. Why not say the flat is not suitable for people with mobility issues, which it certainly isn’t. You also state “no pets” were allowed, yet the neighbouring flat had a dog that barked non-stop for hours at night. The animal terrorised us when let out in the yard and became very aggressive. Recommend that you clear up these matters before someone is injured.

I'm sorry you had issues with your stay. The details do mention there are a number of stairs to the flat, and we do have many couples in their 80s who don't have issues. Perhaps you should have read the details more carefully. Whilst we don't accept dogs in our flat, so as to keep it looking good and not smelling of animals, we have no control over other animals in the rest of the building. Property Owner

“We booked Cliff View as a last minute break.”

The property was great, really comfy and had everything we needed. We loved the balcony with fabulous views and sat out for coffee every morning. The flat had parking which was great. The position of the property was central and within walking distance of everything in Seaton. The stairs to the flat kept us fit! We will return.

“The bottom of the bed frame on either side is wider than the mattress which means that there is a tendency to bang your legs on the metalwork that is sticking out.”

It needs to be padded in someway. We've stayed here 5 times and that is the only issue we have found that catches us out. Love everything else about Cliff View. The views are fantastic. It is well equipped. 5 minute walk to the beach, shops etc. Buses to lots of places. We visited Sidmouth, Lyme Regis, Beer and included a trip to Pecorama. The bus stops right outside. It has a model steam railway that takes you round the beautiful gardens. Well worth a visit.
