    “We've stayed in Lyme Regis for a week's break in April for several years now and we were very pleased with this property.”

    Great location and a small garden overlooking the stream/river. The kitchen made a nice change from similar properties and easily seats 6 with a huge kitchen table. A nice change from cramped, small kitchens in similar houses. Lounge decent, seating for 6, nice big TV was a bonus. Bathroom large and a good shower. Bedrooms a good size and light and airy. Stairs could be tricky for older folk as they are quite twisty, but not really an issue if you're careful. Overall, very pleased with our ...

Only minor issue would be to possibly upgrade the main lounge sofa to something a little less low down and firmer, as the current one is quite awkward for older people to get up from. We had two teenagers, two parent and two grandparents and the house didn't feel cramped.

The property

An attractive, period cottage in the heart of old Lyme Regis, this former mill workers cottage has been lovingly restored and refurbished by the owner over a number of years. The property has been sympathetically modernised and retains many original features complimented by the owner's personal and artistic finishing touches. The accommodation is arranged over three floors and an excellent addition to the cottage is the kitchen and dining area with full width folding doors opening into the garden making this a great space to enjoy at any time of the day. The property backs onto the River Lym and a wonderful feature is the raised seating area where you can sit and watch the river meander by. Just a 5 minute, fairly level, walk from the seafront, restaurants, pubs and shops this is an ideal cottage from which to enjoy all that the traditional seaside town of Lyme Regis has to offer. Please note: Supervision is required with younger children in the garden and on the staircase as this is quite narrow and twisting and may not be suitable for the more infirm. The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer its visitors, boasting a maze of narrow streets filled with craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. Take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway overlooking the ancient harbour, where fishing trips can be enjoyed, or try your hand at fossil hunting in the area. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind.
