The location makes it the perfect base for enjoying many of the local long-distance walking trails, with ready access to the striking Undercliff section of the South West Coast Path, and the East Devon Way taking in the impressive Cannington Viaduct. The village of Uplyme is a 10 minutes walk where you will find the Talbot Arms free-house, a village store and post office and sports fields with tennis courts. A convenient riverside walk follows the River Lym down to the sea at Lyme Regis where its sheltered south-facing beaches are safe for both children and water sport enthusiasts, with great fishing and leisure boat trips available from the famous Cobb harbour. For food lovers, stop off for a bite to eat at River Cottage HQ, offering delicious, themed events or even cookery courses, whilst Hix's Fish & Oyster House, and Robin Wylde lie within Lyme Regis itself. Take a trip to nearby Seaton, where you can follow nearly 4km of level trails and boardwalk at Seaton Wetlands, home to an abundance of wild birds or take a tram ride along the River Axe to the history market town of Colyton. Just a short drive takes you to the stunning Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis.
