Little Poppes Lawn invites you to slow down the moment you arrive. Set close to the Dorset/Devon border near Hawkchurch, this welcoming annexe sits within wide, open grounds that extend into the Axe Valley. Mornings begin with birdsong, and evenings settle into uninterrupted quiet. With over an acre of space and long views across the landscape, it feels pleasantly removed from day‑to‑day pace while still keeping the coast and nearby towns within easy reach.
Inside, the space is comfortable and welcoming, designed for relaxed living. The lounge provides a place to unwind after a day out, be it catching up on the Smart TV or simply taking a moment to rest. The kitchen and dining area keeps mealtimes straightforward, from an easy breakfast to a simple supper enjoyed together.
At night, the bedrooms provide calm and privacy. The double room serves as a quiet retreat with its own en‑suite, while the twin room suits younger guests or friends sharing. Both rooms follow the same comfortable style, making it easy to switch off after a full day exploring.
Stepping outside highlights how well‑placed the property is. Your private garden and covered veranda are ideal for morning coffee or watching the evening light shift across the valley. Beyond that, shared orchards, lawns and a paddock offer extra space to wander, and the firepit creates a natural gathering point as the day draws to a close.
The local area is well suited to walking, with several routes accessible directly from the property. Hawkchurch sits on the Monarch’s Way, a long-distance trail inspired by the escape route of Charles II, offering varied countryside walking without needing to drive. Shorter circular routes are also available around the village and surrounding farmland.
Axminster has a good selection of local shops and historic interest, while Lyme Regis provides access to the Jurassic Coast with its fossil beaches, coastal walks and the well‑known Cobb harbour. It’s an easy place to spend a day, with independent shops, cafés and restaurants.
For further trips out, Forde Abbey and Gardens combines historic buildings with well‑kept grounds. The South West Coast Path offers excellent walking, including the well‑known route to Golden Cap, the highest point on England’s south coast.
