“Check in process was simple and as per instructions, easy to find the key and get holiday started.”

House was available early which was nice, we got there about an hour earlier and it was done, but this I understand can’t be guaranteed. Facilities were great, lots of extras you don’t normally get in a holiday home, lots of books, CDs, TV services etc and of course the electric car charger. Connecting to WiFi and the car charger was extremely simple and worked well. We had a nice cat visit us all week, which was really nice for the kids. Park right out the back of the property ...

House was available early which was nice, we got there about an hour earlier and it was done, but this I understand can’t be guaranteed. Facilities were great, lots of extras you don’t normally get in a holiday home, lots of books, CDs, TV services etc and of course the electric car charger. Connecting to WiFi and the car charger was extremely simple and worked well. We had a nice cat visit us all week, which was really nice for the kids. Park right out the back of the property and easy to access, as well as a field for games, football and a basketball area for those into that stuff. Water, facilities and everything worked well. Only things of note: 1) there are no fans, if it’s going to be hot bring your own, the house is very warm 2) some windows don’t open fully for child safety presumably, but this limits airflow on hot days 3) porch can’t be locked so don’t leave anything valuable in there 4) beds were a little uncomfortable and noisy, squeaking etc, but not too bad 5) electric car charger appears publicly and technically anyone can use this if they wanted to, and you have no way to stop it. Ideally this should be restricted to only those who have a special code or something, we found someone plugged in overnight, thankfully we didn’t need it on that day, so we didn’t raise with the provider. Overall our kids loved it, loads of kids stuff, craft items, drawing pencils paper, very well equipped. Only marked as 4 as the beds were a little unsupportive for my liking. Side notes 1) extremely easy to walk anywhere in Lyme Regis, within 10 mins of the harbour which is furthest away 2) off street parking made it super cheap 3) nicely tucked away near the bottom of a quiet street - although sometimes the traffic and single lane roads are fun to navigate when busy, but overall not a problem Definitely would consider a revisit if we ever do the trip again.

“The house was lovely.”

Positioned close to town and a park for the children which is safe. the house has all the facilities you need for a stay away from home and we all had a lovely time in lyme regis. the neighbours are also very friendly and helpful. there is a very helpful file on arrival with lots of information.

“Excellent location, close to the beach, harbour, shops, pubs, restaurants.”

Clean and spacious accommodation, which had most of the things we needed for an enjoyable stay. The kitchen is well equipped,with the exception of a tin opener which does not work. The two double beds were, however, quite uncomfortable and much too soft, causing poor sleep and backache, which did spoil our holiday somewhat. Furthermore, there is a large gap in the fence which does make it unsafe to let pets out into the back garden. The WiFi is very fast, the TV is good and we found the kitchen to be light and pleasant.

“There are a number of suggestions we make, Clear the back gate entrance and exit so that it is easy to use.”

Fix the hole in the fence and put a gate down the side of the house to make the courtyard secure for dogs. Get rid of or put a lid on the unsightly water butt which held stagnant water and dead flies. Put some decent garden furniture for comfort instead of the flimsy cheap table and chairs that were there. Give the holiday letting company information about the use of the EV charger. (prior to our holiday I emailed twice without joy and when at the house phoned the agent who hadn't got a clue) Inside the house needs a through clean. The flooring was chipped and cracked and needs repairing, Plus the dead fly's on the floor and dirt hanging from radiators didn't help. The settee cover was badly worn & faded and smelt very stale. The radiator in the bathroom is rusted and needs replacing badly The curtains didn't fit the windows and had black marks on them All the windows were dirty and 2 of the doubled glazed window had blown and held condensation. The upstairs toilet the door was filthy and unpainted The beds were cheap and uncomfortable. The pillows were okay Overall the property lacked any care and attention. On the positive it was in a great location for the River Lym and the town centre. All the appliances worked well (all bar the EV charger) It had parking which is always a plus in Lyme Regis. Our holiday was not ruined by the poor accommodation, the comments above are practical and non expensive to implement. We will not be rebooking this property.
