“Overall, the house was really nice and in a fabulous location, close to the centre of Lyme Regis and only a few minutes' walk from the beach.”

A few points to note: as the property is located on the main road, you step directly onto the roadside as there is no pavement immediately outside. The only practical way to unload the car without obstructing the road is to park in Toad Hall and carry belongings to the property. The designated parking space for the property is also located around 10 minutes away. None of these points would stop me from booking again, but I feel they are things that guests should be aware of before their stay.

Thank you for the feedback. Sorry you hadn’t picked up from the pictures the positioning of the house in relation to the road. Unfortunately there aren’t many houses in the centre of Lyme with parking which is why we provide the parking pass but I appreciate it can make it difficult to unload and reload cars. “Lovely cottage with light airy rooms, well equipped and good location with a very easy walk to the sea, shops and cafes/pubs.”

It is on a busy road but once in property this is not an issue. Parking permit a real bonus but to note the carpark like most of Lyme is situated off a steep hill. We had a lovely holiday, we have used Lyme bay holidays before and would book with them again.

“Starfish House proved to be a fantastic booking for our short break!”

Location near to the town centre, seafront and facilities is ideal. The property itself is spacious, well appointed, very clean and the car parking permit a bonus. Sitting areas very comfortable and functional, as too the bedrooms - and a lovely private rear garden/patio area perfect for outdoor relaxation. Overall, we would highly recommend!

“A spotlessly clean well-appointed cottage in close proximity to the sea front and shops of Lyme Regis.”

The accommodation matches the listing - three generous double bedrooms and two lovely bathrooms. The road outside is narrow and can get a bit busy but we could see that beforehand from the map. You can just about park temporarily a little further up to drop off, then the complimentary parking permit is for a car park about a 10 minute walk away. Really very simple but just a small note if you're a bit less able bodied and need your vehicle to be nearer. Highly recommended though, would return.

“Really light and warm cottage, very clean and well equipped .”

Good and close to the centre of town and even though on a road no real traffic noise at all. Overall a great base for a new year getaway. Service and communication from Sykes and Lyme holidays excellent. Thank you!

“Starfish House is absolutely gorgeous!”

It has everything you need for a comfortable stay and it made our Christmas very magical. Beds were comfortable, this is a beautiful period property it was lovely and warm thanks to the great heating and very amazing Aga in the kitchen. It was a perfect location, very short walk into the centre of Lyme and within 15 mins you are at the Cobb. We loved it and thank you to Lyme Bay and the Owners for a fabulous stay - we would definitely stay again

“We found Starfish Cottage to be very comfortable, clean and well equipped.”

The decor is delightful and the house felt light and airy. Everything we needed had been provided, including a welcome pack of goodies, milk in the fridge and essentials for washing up. The position was very convenient for the sea and the town with it's shops and cafés. A couple of issues that arose were dealt with quickly and efficiently by the company and all the staff were very pleasant. The only thing that was not made clear in the description is that the cottage is on a narrow but busy road with no pavement outside the front door and that it is, therefore, not possible to park outside even to load and unload. The free space provided in a car park was appreciated but it is a fair distance from the house and up a steep hill so we needed to find somewhere closer to the house from which to unload our luggage. Once unloaded, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay so thank you.

“This stunning property was tastefully & beautifully decorated throughout & the owners obviously thought of everything to ensure a relaxing & comfortable stay.”

It had all the mod cons, including washer/dryer, dish washer, fridge and seperate freezer. The 3 bedrooms were large & roomy & the mattresses were extremely comfortable. Having 2 seperate shower/bathrooms was a blessing. Ideally situated, it was only 5 or 10 mins to walk to shops and sea front. This is by far the best property I have stayed in & would not hesitate to return. Everything was perfect. Outstanding overall & any future guests are in for an absolute treat staying here. You will not be disappointed. I did not want to return home. Highly recommended property that ticked all the boxes.

Starfish House is a beautifully presented three-storey house situated in the centre of the seaside town of Lyme Regis, Dorset.
