In an excellent location, this is an ideal seaside home from which to enjoy all that the traditional holiday resort of Lyme Regis has to offer.
Please note:
Typical of properties of this age, the cottage has fairly steep staircases (with handrails) so extra care should be taken by the young or infirm. Supervision of younger children will be required in the raised garden area due to the access steps. The property accommodates a maximum of 4 adults.

We had a disappointing experience at Monmouth Cottage.
The location is good for access to the beach, shops and cafes but it is two doors from a fish and chip shop that has long opening hours and early morning deliveries. The smell of the chip shop is pungent in the tiny courtyard area. The vent pipe from the shop is visible from the seating area hence the smell. Within 10 metres of the house and opposite the chip shop is a pub. Bottles were emptied into bins late into the night ( after 11pm) and collected (more rattling and smashing) between 6 and 7am. There was noise from the pub throughout the evening. The front door had been painted recently and masking tape was left around the door frame. In the entrance wall paper was lifting from the walls and there were patches of paint where there had been a touching up the walls. The courtyard was tiny and unswept. The sash windows on the top floor were difficult to close. The mattress covers were thin and the bedding of poor quality. The property is advertised for 6 people but the living room only has a two seater and three seater. The ‘dining area’ which is also the living room has the fridge freezer in the middle of it! The listing should be honest and prepare visitors for the noise and smell coming from the businesses that run a few metres from the house. In addition there were building works taking place across the road and this was also creating early morning noise.
We had a wonderful time here.
So near the sea front, shops and bars. The steps to the outside patio are steep as mentioned but it is a real sun trap. Very equal sized rooms which was good as we were sharing with my brother and had two teenage boys. They especially liked the goody bag. Also nice to have a well stocked kitchen.

Note: Due to the age of the property there are steep steps both inside and outside so please bear this in mind when booking. Note: Parking a short walk from property and subject to availability. Note: Children must be supervised at all times when outside due to the steep nature of the steps on the terrace.
We have been contacted by the local council concerning essential works taking place within the car park from the 3rd Feb for approximately 3-4 weeks weather dependent.
There will be a dedicated area for cars that have a parking permit to display, however please note that EV charging will not be available during this time but Charmouth Road Car Park and Holmbush Car Park chargers will be fully operational.
