“We had a lovely week staying at Radium in Lyme Regis - we came in June the week after the school half term, so we experienced the town when it was quieter and out of the school holidays - Radium is well situated near to the beach and conveniences.”

The apartment itself is clean, comfortable, bright and spacious and had everything we needed for our week's stay - what was especially lovely was the welcome package that was waiting for us on our arrival - we'd had a long journey and to arrive to such a thoughtful welcome gift (with quality tea, coffee, milk and biscuits), meant that we were able to settle in with a cuppa almost straightaway. Our car was too big for the drive through to the apartment car park, but there is an NCP only a couple ...

Our car was too big for the drive through to the apartment car park, but there is an NCP only a couple of minutes walk away and we left our car there without issue. I would definitely recommend staying here, we had a wonderful and comfortable holiday.

“The location is excellent the condition of the flat is not anywhere near the standard of other accommodation we have booked with you.”

The furniture does not match the pictures and despite being told the problem of damp had been cleared the smell from the cupboards was a damp smell. Everything worked the welcome pack was good, its such a pity the property is not well maintained

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, the entrance is quite narrow and we advise guests to take on board the advice given in the description of the property. Alternative (paid for) parking is available nearby, Holmbush Car Park for example. Property Owner

“Propertie was damp and all cupboards crockery and premises had to be washed before we could relax .”

. dishwasher was not working (water was not going into it ) on arrival tjere was scaffolding up around the property which we was not informed about on booking,3 days into holiday was told scaffolding would be taken down which it was not for the entire stay , property states patio garden area which it does not have , which was one of the reasons I booked as I have 2 dogs .. overall the properties bedroom was comfortable but I would not be staying there again due to the smell damp and wasting a day of my holiday cleaning the property before we could use it !!!!

We are very sorry you had a poor experience. Since your stay we have done our best to address the issues you mention: New Dishwasher Redecorated throughout Dehumidifiers in the cupboards General refurbishments, deep cleaning etc Improvements to the small patio area (garden store unit, new teak garden bench, replacement shrubs etc) Apologies for the scaffolding but this was erected unbeknown to us and was beyond our control. “The shower was great, bed was really comfy, nice central location.”

It was very dark in the property and needed brighter lighting. The washing machine didn't spin very dry and the drier left clothes wet not dry I think it needs a service. The kitchen was well stocked but the cupboards all smelt very musty, the glasses cupboard was very smelly. It would be nice to have recycling facilities in this day and age. Unfortunately the alley right outside is used almost constantly due to the bins. Some bins were for the small cinema/pub so were loaded with glass bottles frequently and noisily at night. The pub also had its outside toilet right next to the property bathroom which meant people going back and forth all evening at the weekend.

Thanks for your feedback, this is always helpful. The washer/dryer has been checked and works OK but the dryer does need a reasonable time to dry the clothing. We also provide a clothes dryer for towels etc. At the time of writing unfortunately commercial waste is bundled together (recycling and general waste). We have addressed the issue regarding the noise with the pub and hope that it improves. Property Owner

“The main benefits are the excellent location and a parking space.”

The website describes a patio/ garden which is mis-leading as there is just a bench outside of the door but there is no enclosed patio or garden, it is open to the car park. This would have been useful to know as we took the dog with us.

Thanks for your feedback, The small patio area is as shown in the description and whilst small provides a pleasant place to sit. We have recently enhanced this with new shrubs, garden bench and store (for beach items etc). With the wooden floors in the property we have done our best to make the property pet friendly. “We have given this property 2 stars which is for the location and price.”

However we were very disappointed with the property itself. Upon arriving at the property the front looked very unkempt and untidy. The front door was filthy, and there was dried bird poo on the door and a dead, decomposed bird corpse on the patio. Opening the front door I immediately noticed a musty smell. I have detailed the other areas of disappointment below: The bathroom windowsill hasn’t been cleaned in a long time, and there is a disgusting mark on the skirting board/wall by the door. The bathroom floor was filthy, which I discovered when on the first day when, with my foot, I ran the bath mat over some water I’d split. The over mirror light was full of dead flies. The fan in the bedroom was filthy so I couldn’t use it as I didn’t want to blow all of the filth onto us. All the wooden furniture clearly hasn’t been cleaned in a long time, as they had a thick layer of dust on it. I discovered the duvet had some disgusting stains when I removed the cover at the end of our stay. Overall the property felt grubby and uncared for. It’s very nice that you give some goodies on arrival but I would rather find a nice clean place. I just wish I had read the reviews for your properties on Trip Advisor before booking as my findings seem to be fairly common. I do have photos and would be very happy to share them.

“A nice cottage.”

Location is perfect. Lyme Regis very lovely. As expected free car park not accessible by our Toyota RAV car which has a width of 1.87m so, with windows even folded in, archway to parking not accessible. Good local parking options, but it did add another £90 to cost of holiday.

This ground floor apartment is quietly tucked away in the heart of Lyme Regis. Part of a Grade II listed building, this very well equipped and flexible holiday apartment is ideal for small families, couples, or friends travelling together using the sofa bed. The seafront is only a few minutes walk away. A welcome pack for your arrival ensures a great start to your holiday and will include milk, tea and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats. There is the added benefit of off-road parking, although care needs to be exercised with larger cars, as the space is accessed through a narrow archway. Please note: Care needs to be taken with larger cars as the parking space is accessed via a narrow passageway (approx 1.9m wide) which has a 'kink' halfway through which can make manoeuvring difficult. Please be aware neither the owner or Lyme Bay Holidays can offer alternative parking should your car not be suitable - there are public car parks within a few minutes walk.
