Quiet and peaceful in a residential area.

A short walk to the beach or the village.

As others have said, the kitchen was poorly equipped, inadequate provision for waste disposal - no bin for general waste, just very small recycling bins no instructions for oven, microwave or electric radiators.

Think the oven was actually broken - reported to owner. Good bathroom facilities but towels rather small. Due to the construction of the property it gets very hot and airless inside and would benefit from a fan. All in all, not a bad place to stay, very quiet and peaceful and only 10 minutes walk from the beach

.settee not very comfortable …welcome pack was household cleaning items…not biscuits etc which I have come to expect from Sykes cottages…nice location with two lovely pubs within easy walking distance

We loved our stay at Cherry Pip Cottage and found it to be just as described.

The village is close by with all you need- a small supermarket and a decent chemist plus other shops, a pub and places to eat. It’s a shortish walk downhill to the beach but if you have a lot to carry or are not very fit there is plenty of parking so you can take the car to save the uphill return! The cottage was very comfortable and had all we needed- even a hairdryer which I don’t think was listed. It was so peaceful there, I don’t believe I have ever enjoyed better sleep.

Very nice quaint quiet village that we loved. Great pubs, cafes avd everyone so friendly . Ultra clean place - We found it very restful. Comfy bed and bedding, with lovely views and breeze through velux windows. Easy to use TV. Plenty of utensils cutlery etc. Would recommend to others and return ourselves! It’s important to state that there is no welcome pack provided at this property /no milk / left over tea bags/cofee salt: pepper/ books etc. we have rented many properties in UK and this is the first time we would describe as ‘sparse’ ( although lovely and clean) Feel this is down to the local cottage rental magency /cleaner - not the owner who we found to be lovely -(agency had full responsibility - having been with them to other cottages in Dorset and they have provided a full welcome pack previously) Guess it keeps the price down! We had a bad start when we arrived.

We couldn’t unlock the patio door and had to call Lyme Bay, the management company, as we were not given a direct number for the owner. We had to sit and wait for about 15 minutes in the blazing sun on 27 June, the peak of the second heatwave. The owner had to use force to unlock the door. The door would not close and, 3 days later, it was hanging off the hinges. We had to call the out-of-hours service (the man was not happy). He got the door closed and tightened up some screws, but the following day he called the owners, stating there was “nothing” wrong with the door. On arrival, there was a note over the hob apologising that 2 rings were not working. In fact, 3 rings were not working. We asked Lynn, the owner, when it would be fixed. She called the office and no one had reported the broken hob. We were advised the issue had not previously been reported. We were given a temporary countertop cooker and the hob was replaced on the Monday. We were taken aback by the poor cutlery, which was all odd and old, and the lack of basic utensils. We had to buy kitchen scissors, a vegetable knife and, having to make and pour gravy from a coffee mug, a jug from the local shop. There are 2 chipped Pyrex casserole lids but no dishes. There was no dustpan and brush, so I had to wipe the kitchen area floor with wet wipes. The toaster wasn’t working properly. Every time the element heated up, the toaster ejected the bread. I asked for another toaster. This was provided within 1/2 hour and I thanked the owner the following day with flowers, only to be told “there was nothing wrong” with the toaster as it was working properly. By that time, we gave up raising issues. The bedroom is lovely and the views are very nice, the best part of the cottage. We didn’t find the mattress lumpy, and the WiFi was good. Both toilets were clean and both bathrooms had electric towel rails. We had no problem using the shower downstairs. The garden is very small and dog owners should be aware that there is a door adjacent to the cottage door in the garden that is not part of the cottage. The owners' cats walk through the Small Cherry Pip garden using a cat flap in the door. The location of Small Cherry Pip is great for the beach and shops. We would not recommend a long stay; we were there for 2 weeks. But for a weekend or short midweek break, it’s perfect. Again, eating out would be our recommendation. We felt the cottage would benefit from additional kitchen equipment and utensils.

Very welcoming. Tge place was very clean and tidy with everything we needed. We would recommend this place in the heart of Charmouth

It was very comfortable.

Not sure we would stop somewhere else where shower was on ground floor,but bedroom was upstairs.Towels were not good,one hand towel and one bath towel each--good job we brought our own.One toilet roll each for a week is also not ideal,we ended up buying some more. Lights were a bit of a bind,one floor lamp downstairs but room lighting was too bright too read by.Overall it was very nice.We met some lovely locals,the lady across the lane on bat study tickled us both.Village comprises of 1 Nisa shop,2pubs,a newsagent/hardware store and 1 fish & chip shop.Owner(s) very pleasant

Lovely property in great location.

Only issues were dodgy front door lock which was sorted quite quickly. Fortunately the inner door was lockable so I mostly used that. Glad I met the owner who loaned me a step so I could reach the kitchen cupboards and louvre windows upstairs. Bed a bit lumpy. Figured out recycling but no sensible answers from Lyme Bay Holidays who run the property. Overall great stay.

Accommodation very clean and tidy. Beautiful bedroom, very bright and airy. Rental is in a perfect location for Charmouth Beach, just a few minutes walk away. So nice to not have to move the car when we wanted to walk along the beach. Internet was a bit intermittent.

This is a very cosy little cottage, ideally situated in Charmouth within easy walking distance of 2 great pubs, the shops and the beach.

The only shortcoming we noticed was the lack of drinking glasses, there were no pint glasses and only 1 wine glass. This is a lovely place to stay and is a great place for exploring Charmouth and the rest of the Jurassic Coast. We would have no problem staying here again.

We were the first to book here and we suppose there was a chance there'd be teething issues.

I wanted to give feedback rather than a review that might be published to be fair to the host but eventually had to use the review The cottage is cosy and well looked after, the bed is really comfortable and the shower was great. Lynne the owner is friendly, welcoming and helpful  It is in a great location, close to shops/pubs and the beach.  I wanted to give it a 10 star rating but felt the following issues couldn't justify that completely: The cottage is advertised as having wifi and a smart tv. However there was no wifi available at the moment (apparently the owner did let you know that and she is looking into how she can get it installed), which also meant that the smart TV wasn't enabled.Both toilet seats are smaller than the toilet pans which makes them unsettling to sit on and probably less hygienic The light switch for the stairs also turns on the lights in the bedroom which means that if one of the couple goes to bed at a different time or gets up earlier than the other then the whole bedroom is lit up disturbing the sleep of the other guest.  It must be fairly simple to get an electrician in to isolate the two functions with different switches.  We got round this by leaving a lamp on downstairs which was less disruptive but still meant the space was lighter than is conducive to good sleep.The kitchen had a microwave but we couldn't locate any cooking bowls that could be used in it.The sink drainer is tiny so the owner has provided a huge plastic dish drainer for the washing up. It is way too big and unusable - there are plenty of smaller ones available which have a sloping funnel-like drain towards the sink.There was plenty of crockery and cutlery but they were old and felt like they had been found in a charity shop or the back of someone's kitchen cupboard.  Apart from the mugs which were obviously new.It would be really helpful to have hooks on the back of the shower room door to hang dressing gowns on. Leaving a dressing gown on the floor of a shower room is not ideal. Also the towels were too small We mentioned items 1, 2 and 3 to the owner and she said that she might do something about them.
