Waterloo Place

A compact flat in a great location.

10 minutes walk to the beach. Parking is on the street. Not ideal. I got my wing mirror damaged on the second night. The shower is fairly useless. Water flow is very weak and very hard to get the temperature comfortable. The flat was great for 1. World be cramped for 2. My biggest issue is that the flat smelt musty and damp which was quite unpleasant at times.

The property is well located, though finding parking was harder than anticipated given I was there out of season.

Clearly not the fault of the owner but something to be aware of. On the whole the flat was clean but some areas had been missed. Generally it felt like the flat could do with some TLC - for example the shutters are broken, the back of a kitchen cupboard needed repairing, some of the cooking utensils were rusty/dull. The microwave is really awkwardly located so the door doesn’t open fully and pretty as it is, the fridge also makes an irritating noise which could do with fixing.

Overall we were happy with our stay.

We were able to park nearby and the flat was in a good location. The only thing we would make other guests aware of is noise from the road especially morning and late afternoon.

The flat was SO dirty and in desperate need of a deep clean.

Pasta sauce splattered up the kitchen cupboard. Dirty work surfaces, taps, kettle splattered with food. Hob covered in crumbs and dials greasy & dirty. Bedside tables dusty. Headboard thick with dust. Shelves in bedroom so dirty we left our clothes in our suitcase. Venetian blind on bedroom door has clearly not been cleaned in a very long time as so dusty. Plug sockets & switches throughout are greasy & dirty. Bathroom bin rusty & doesn’t open. Thick dirt & dust under cabinet & skirting boards in bathroom. Extremely unpleasant smell in the flat. We had to sit with the front door open. We discovered it came from the large cupboard in the living room, which is crammed full. On opening the door I gagged at the smell. The doors of this cupboard are covered with dust and hairs. The bedroom needs a blackout blind as in July the sun streams in at 4:30am so don’t expect a restful stay. The shower is either scalding hot or extra scalding hot & needs servicing. We book Sykes cottages as they are always of the highest standard. This property fails on all levels.

We had a lovely time staying in Waterloo Place.

Parking a little tricky at times but did eventually always find a space. Pub just down the road is a little gem

Schöne gemütliche Ferienwohnung im Ortskern von Charmouth.

Zu den Geschäften, dem Pub und dem Strand sind es nur wenige Gehminuten (Parkplätze in Strandnähe alle gebührenpflichtig). Parken direkt an der Ferienwohnung nicht möglich. Man findet aber an der vorbeiführenden Hauptstraße Parkplätze.

Amazing holiday home,with all amenities within walking distance, Waterloo Place is well presented and is very well equipped on The welcome pack is the best we have received, many thanks for our stay.

Brilliant location with everything we needed. Close to local shop and pub made for a perfect break.

Was lovely and clean and we had a goodie bag with some lovely biscuits, flapjacks etc All were made in local doset bakerys

Perfect for a short break.

Handy to visit Lyme Regis via the regular bus service with stops nearby. Enjoyed the Royal Oak pub a couple of hundred yards down the road.

Nice flat, very clean and comfortable.

The only thing we missed was an outsider space to sit.

The flat was dirty - there were crumbs on the sofa, rice on the side in the kitchen, half of a false eyelash on the steps and someone's hair and hairband in the bathroom.

There was dirty cutlery and crockery. There was a pile of dirt under the sofa. The bedroom as no ventilation as you cannot open a door or window and hence there is mould on the bottom open shelf. As there is no chest of drawers you would be hoping to use the open shelves but I wouldn't recommend it because of the mould. There were 2 broken hangers for your clothes which must hang behind the door. The bedroom is too light (no black out curtains) and too noisy (you sleep a few feet from the loud fridge) so take earplugs and an eyemask. The kitchen bin and bathroom bin are both broken. Huge folder full of info you could google but no instructions for the heating.

Great little property .

Clean , lovely treat bag and milk in fridge on arrival . 10 min walk to Charmouth beach, fossils and sea glass aplenty . Lovely Chip shop , pub , convenience store all walking distance . Parking an issue - as no designated area - had to park away from property around corner up the hill a couple of times . We set the smoke alarm off with toaster - only way to ventilate property appears to be bathroom window and opening the door . If you love fossils and searching on the beach , overall it’s a great place to come and stay x

Lovely little apartment and in a good position for access to the beach and starting walks.

The apartment is great if you’ve got a dog as it has tiled floors and therefore easy to clean, although no outdoor space this didn’t bother us as I wandered down to the beach for an early morning stroll. It is close to The Royal Oak, a very nice pub for lovely meals and within easy walking distance. All in all an ideal bolt hole for exploring this lovely area.

We had a very comfortable time in your tastefully decorated property.

All the facilities were very convenient and in good working order. The ideal central location on The Street in Charmouth plus its close walk to the sea added to the charm of our stay. The gift pack was a much appreciated surprise.

The bedroom is quite small with no opening windows(only the glass in a locked door ) no wardrobe or real storage.

Parking was very difficult which was a problem for us as my husband has limited mobility, may be not an issue out of season .Also be aware the flat is at the top of the hill away from all facilities, certainly got my exercise. Otherwise very well equipped with plenty of towels etc and a lovely welcome gift bag . There is a fabulous comfy large sofa , perfect for lounging on . We had a lovely week overall, good value , but wouldn’t return , not ideal for us .

The property itself was comfortable and well provided.

Welcome pack was good. Concerns: Location: Issues with parking in summer, ventilation (limited opening windows), light (heavy blinds as on main road). Limited instructions re appliances (manuals were complicated - we never did work out the heating system). Refuse disposal appeared to be a different day from everyone else in the street. The drain blockage was distressing but dealt with very promptly - regular maintenance might be useful.

The accommodation had everything we wanted and in a location that suited us!

Waterloo Place is a lovely ground floor property with everything you need and more, it's very close to the beach and is located in a lovely little town with lots of friendly people.

Will be looking forward to staying there soon in the near future.
