“The house was nice and spacious with plenty of room for our family group of 7.”
After a long, hot and tiring journey the Welcome Pack, with tea, milk and biscuits, was just what we needed. However, as the day had been hot, the bedrooms were also hot and stuffy, and we could not open some of the windows to cool the rooms down. The impressive family 'bathroom' did not have a toilet. The toilet was across the landing, with no washbasin, and no opening window or extractor fan. The garden and outside seating area was lovely, and we used it a lot; but a tray would have been very useful to carry cups, glasses and food outside. A sunshade would also have been appreciated. On the positive side, the games room was very much appreciated and utilised. The kitchen was adequate, with a large dining table and comfortable chairs. Braeside is a lovely old house, but has been sadly mistreated in the attempts to make it a holiday let for families. We love Lyme Regis, but definitely won't be staying at Braeside again.
