    “The Bothy was the most perfect of havens - cosy but with a feeling of real spatiousness.”

    Stunning views of the sea and some lovely sunrises too. A wonderful place for gathering your thoughts and getting inspired. If you come without a car as I did be prepared for some steep uphill climbs from the town and shore but public transport is close at hand for trips to and from Axminster, Charmouth, Bridport, West Bay, and more. Thank you for a great stay.

The property

The Bothy is a wonderful studio apartment near the stunning coast in Lyme Regis, Dorset. Commanding wonderful views of the sea and the Jurassic coast, and hidden away amongst mature trees, this charming bolthole is perfect for a romantic getaway. All on one level, the living space is an intriguing, curved shape with floor-to-ceiling windows so you can make the most of the views. High ceilings with skyline windows, allow the light to stream in through the trees and mature shrubs which surround the property, adding to its wonderful sense of seclusion. The interior is tastefully furnished with exquisite personal touches throughout giving this apartment a luxurious feel. The kitchen, although compact, is a wonderful space to conjure up a tasty breakfast or cosy dinner which can be enjoyed sat looking out over the gardens to the sea beyond. Doors open from the living area onto the balcony terrace, with the bistro table and chairs creating the perfect spot for sharing a bottle of wine. When it comes to nighttime, the double bed will provide a relaxing and restful sleep ensuring you wake up refreshed and ready to enjoy everything that this stunning part of Dorset has to offer. The town of Lyme Regis is a short walk away and boasts an excellent array of independent shops, galleries and restaurants. A scenic walk through the Langmoor Gardens takes you to the seafront with its beaches and iconic Cobb Harbour. The sandy beach is popular with beachgoers and for water sports such as paddleboarding and kayaking with the Lyme Rib Rides offering a more thrilling experience and thrilling way to see the coast. When it comes to eating out, you will be spoilt for choice with a fantastic selection of restaurants, pubs and takeaways serving great food, local beverages and seafood. The beaches in Dorset are a paradise with fossil hunters, and you can learn all about the area's rich geological history at the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre, located on the seafront before trying to find your own ammonites hidden on the shorelines. The nearby cliff-top paths and South West Coastal footpath provide great walking for those wishing to explore the stunning coastline on foot and take in views towards Portland on a clear day.
