“A wonderful find!”

The dairy is a beautifully furnished 2 bedroom holiday home which is perfect for exploring Dorset, Devon and Somerset! We absolutely loved our stay! Highly recommend.

“We had a lovely stay at the Dairy.”

The property is very well laid out and a great deal of thought has gone into making the property comfortable and welcoming. Very clean and good quality furnishings. Good location for coastal and inland walks. Road noise (mentioned on the listing) was not at all troublesome and wi-fi was fine. Would recommend this cottage and would definitely stay here again.

“A wonderful find - The Dairy has everything anyone needs in a holiday cottage and it is all of such excellent quality.”

Obviously meant for four people but luxuriously comfortable for two. Carol, it was the personal touches that made it a delight to stay in and the beautiful headboards have to receive a special mention. it’s in an ideal position for exploring Dorset too. Just one suggestion - a long handled floor squeegee in the wet room would be useful. Pat and Rosie

“It would have been nice if the owners who lived opposite came to introduce themselves and see if everything was alright.”

The property itself was lovely and well equipped however I do take exception to us having to strip the bed before we leave as to my that’s the owners job. Both my wife and I suffer with breathing problems and doing this made us suffer after we had a lovely holiday.

“The Dairy is a lovely cottage that has great facilities that are generally higher spec than many other properties.”

It has a beautiful setting and the owner was extremely helpful to us even late on a Sunday evening!! You can hear some Road noise from the living room and outside but the bedrooms are placed to ensure that we found them very restful and quiet.

“Lovely property in a great location.”

Central for Dorset, Devon and Somerset. Great facilities and was very clean. We did miss a washing machine though! The only suggestion we would make is to have grab rails put in both bathrooms. Will definitely be back!

“I would definitely stay here again.”

It was a good size, clean and had everything we needed (no issues with WiFi). The wood burner kept us nice and warm in the evenings. The location was perfect for us as we were on a fossil hunting mission so travelling to the various beaches worked well. We were inside so the traffic noise from the A35 wasn't an issue but I could imagine it being irritating in the summer when outside/windows open at night. Easily booked and informative email confirmation/guidance/instructions.

The property

A beautiful detached converted barn sympathetically renovated and tastefully furnished to a very high standard. Providing superb accommodation there is exceptional attention to detail with high quality throughout with some delightful bespoke furniture. The open plan living space boasts wonderful character and charm, with original dairy doors, a vaulted ceiling, exposed timbers and even a woodburner for those cooler, cosy nights by the fire. Two good sized bedrooms have sumptuous quality beds and there are two high quality bathrooms. The property is set near the owner's home, on the outskirts of the village of Uploders which lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of the West Dorset countryside. Conveniently situated for the A35 means the historic market town of Bridport and the county town of Dorchester are within easy reach. Also nearby is the much sought after coastal village of Burton Bradstock and its National Trust beach and popular award winning Hive Beach Cafe. Uploders itself has a cosy village pub which is around 10 minutes walk away. The area is a haven for walkers as the surrounding rolling countryside is criss-crossed by footpaths and bridleways. An attractive luxury retreat for those looking for a romantic hideaway or relaxing break at any time of the year. The Dairy is one of three buildings arranged around a courtyard style development, the other two being the owners house and The Stone Barn also available to let. The three properties share an entrance driveway. Some traffic noise is experienced from the A35. BRIDPORT

Lyme Regis 10 miles; West Bay 2 miles.

The attractive market town of Bridport grew up around the River Brit, and was shaped by its extensive history of rope and net making. The long, wide streets and alleyways between the houses were once where the flax strands were twisted into rope, while today those streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns. Bridport’s market is regularly featured on the River Cottage TV programme. 2 miles south of Bridport is the dramatic Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, home to the backdrop for TV's Harbour Lights and the coastal setting for popular Broadchurch, whilst the picturesque resort of Lyme Regis is within 10 miles. A superb base for exploring wonderful West Dorset.
