“As it was our second stay at the stone barn we were already aware of places to visit in and around Bridport so in that sense our stay was this time more enjoyable.”
The Barn is very beautifully laid out - we particularly liked the wooden surrounds to give us some privacy, now that The Dairy next door has opened . We spoke on a couple of occasions to Carol who is a delight…
The property
A stunning detached converted stone barn sympathetically renovated and refurbished to a very high standard.
Providing luxurious accommodation, as well as restoring many original features the owners have introduced some very attractive individual touches including a wood-burner in the comfortable sitting area, ideal for warming any colder evenings.
The property is set near the owner's home, on the outskirts of the village of Uploders which lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of the West Dorset countryside. Conveniently situated for the A35 means the historic market town of Bridport and the county town of Dorchester are within easy reach. Also nearby is the much sought after coastal village of Burton Bradstock and its National Trust beach and popular award winning Hive Beach Cafe. Uploders itself has a cosy village pub which is around 10 minutes walk away. The area is a haven for walkers as the surrounding rolling countryside is criss-crossed by footpaths and bridleways.
An ideal luxury retreat for those looking for a romantic hideaway or relaxing break at any time of the year.
The Stone Barn is one of three buildings arranged around a courtyard style development, the other two being the owners house and The Dairy also available to let. The three properties share an entrance driveway.
Some traffic noise is experienced from the A35. If you are particularly sensitive to traffic noise this location may not be for you.

About the location
BRIDPORT
Lyme Regis 10 miles; West Bay 2 miles.
The attractive market town of Bridport grew up around the River Brit, and was shaped by its extensive history of rope and net making. The long, wide streets and alleyways between the houses were once where the flax strands were twisted into rope, while today those streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns. Bridport’s market is regularly featured on the River Cottage TV programme. 2 miles south of Bridport is the dramatic Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, home to the backdrop for TV's Harbour Lights and the coastal setting for popular Broadchurch, whilst the picturesque resort of Lyme Regis is within 10 miles. A superb base for exploring wonderful West Dorset.
