Coronavirus – COVID-19

As of 2nd December we able to welcome back customers to our properties but within the restrictions under Tier 2 meaning households cannot mix unless within a formed social bubble. If you have a booking in December which does not comply to these new rules please contact us via [email protected] and we will discuss your preferred options with you.

This ruling does not apply to the Christmas period from 23rd to 27th December within which people from any Tier can form a social ‘Christmas’ bubble within 3 families AND stay at a holiday accommodation, full details linked below.

If you have a booking which does not comply with these rules or the dates allowed then again please contact us on [email protected] and we will discuss your preferred options for your booking.

Obviously this is all subject to change with areas moving Tiers over the coming weeks and months, we will do our upmost to update this information as quickly as possible and always remain available in some format to discuss questions with you. Upon opening our offices on the 2nd December we will publish our revised office opening times for December. Restart guidance and information

It is vitally important that social distancing and adherement to all Government guidelines are followed for your safety and that of our staff and local communities. We can all expect government guidance to change further over the coming weeks and months and we will be monitoring this and adapting our business as required and there are some changes which have already been implemented to ensure you can visit our properties feeling confident we have done all we can in relation to your safety.



What changes have Lyme Bay Holidays made to their procedures to help minimise the risk to guests?

All of our owners have completed a risk assessment for their properties and also adapted and enhanced cleaning procedures to help minimise the risk from the virus. As a business we have also made changes within our offices and to our working conditions. We still offer a 24hr maintenance service to properties but how we undertake this service if needed when your in residence will change and such details will be provided to you as part of your pre-arrival information.

We have successfully applied for the Visit England ‘We’re Good To Go’ Industry Standard having confirmed the changes and considerations we and our property owners have implemented to both our business practises and properties.

Please remember nowhere can be guaranteed as Covid risk-free but collectively we can all follow best practises and Government advice to minimise our risk to the virus and also to those around us.



Arrival & Departure Times

All arrival times will now be 5pm to allow for the additional cleaning required. Most properties are still allowing a 10am check-out but for some this is earlier. Please check your confirmation paperwork for this information.



What other key changes have been made to the properties?

As few as possible but of course we need to prioritise your safety. You may notice –

Some kitchen items have been removed, additional plates, cups etc to allow enough time for the housekeeper to clean all during the changeover. Books, DVDS, games, throws, visitor books and ‘higher risk items’, essentially items which could have been handled prior to arrival and not easy or practical to clean have either been removed or a sign added to advise.

All arrivals will be contactless from a keysafe, these details will be provided on your confirmation paperwork.



What should you do if you develop Covid-19 symptoms when on holiday with us?

In the first instance please contact our office via the contact numbers are provided. You would then be required to undergo a COVID 19 test at the nearest test centre to your property and the result of this test shared with Lyme Bay Holidays. If this was positive, and you are able, the property should be vacated as quickly as possible. If for any reason you have to self-isolate at the property then any additional rent and associated fees will be chargeable to you for the additional period you remain.

Covid-19 – Cancellation procedure

We fully appreciate the situation regards Covid-19 is changing frequently and this will cause concerns when booking a holiday or if your holiday date is approaching. We have outlined our policy based on the latest guidelines –


We cannot accept bookings of more than 6 people, including children and infants, unless all party members are from one household.



Please note below our policies for either your area, or the area within which the property is situated:

TIER ONE (Medium Alert)

You can holiday and mix with other households up to a maximum of 6 people from other Tier 1 areas, or more than 6 people if all from 1 household.

TIER TWO (High Alert)

Your holiday can continue as planned as if holidaying as 1 household and travelling from a Tier 2 area to a Tier 1 or 2 area. You can check which tier your holiday property is in here. If you are due to stay with another household,  you have the following options:


  • Amend your booking to one family only.
  • Defer your holiday dates (we can hold funds on account should you wish whilst you decide when this might be taken – must be by the end of 2021)
  • Cancel your booking and be refunded in full less a £35 administration fee (to cover costs incurred to process your booking)

TIER THREE (Very High Alert)


  • If your booking is between 23rd – 27th December your booking can proceed with a maximum of 3 households.


For all other dates, you should not be leaving your area due to a restriction on ‘non-essential travel’ and therefore your options are:


  • Defer your holiday dates (we can hold funds on account should you wish whilst you decide when this might be taken and can be into 2021)
  • Cancel your booking and be refunded less the £35 administration fee (to cover costs incurred to process your booking)

Please note if your area moves into a restrictive phase whilst you are on holiday the current government advice is that you can conclude your holiday, then return home and proceed with the restrictions in place.
