“If you are reading this review, you are probably wondering whether to book The Penthouse, well if that is the case then go ahead and book it.”
We have just returned from a wonderful three nights there for our anniversary and we loved it.
So why have I not given it a five star review? As other people have mentioned, the outdoor furniture is very tired and the balconies did not look like they had been swept or cleaned, certainly not the one off the bedroom, it looked as though the table had not been wiped. The Wi-Fi is really poor as well. I know you are on holiday and therefore should not be worrying about Wi-Fi, but I was trying to ...

So why have I not given it a five star review? As other people have mentioned, the outdoor furniture is very tired and the balconies did not look like they had been swept or cleaned, certainly not the one off the bedroom, it looked as though the table had not been wiped. The Wi-Fi is really poor as well. I know you are on holiday and therefore should not be worrying about Wi-Fi, but I was trying to send a video to family via WhatsApp and it was painfully slow. You only got a full signal in the middle of the lounge when we were there and 4G was very intermittent on the balcony with no Wi-Fi signal to speak of at all. There is cream carpet throughout so you can imagine that this has got a few marks on it. That is why I have knocked a star off because to get five stars everything has to be perfect.
Having said that the apartment was absolutely spotless. The shower in the bathroom was brilliant, the apartment is very well equipped, it has hand wash and toilet paper, washing tablets and dishwasher tablets plus washing up liquid etc if you wanted to hand wash your plates and a teatowel. There was also a little welcome pack and a pint of milk.
The views are to die for, we spent most of our time out on the balcony because we were lucky with the weather this summer. The location is also excellent right in the middle of town. We have a Renault Clio and parked okay but if there had been a car in the space next to us, we would not have been able to get into nor out of our car and I’m not sure how we would’ve got out of the space either. Therefore, as other reviews have said this parking space is incredibly tight.
We really could not have asked for anything more and would not hesitate to book it again.
With all the mention of stairs in other reviews I was expecting a staircase as though you were going to a lighthouse, I can assure you that although there are lots of stairs they are like you would have in your home, the penthouse is on the third floor so there are three sets of carpeted double stairs with half landings in between. So it is not accessible if you have disabilities but the stairs were not as daunting as I thought they would be. Hopefully you will find this review useful, as I say don’t hesitate to book because despite some of the negative things this was just a fabulous holiday and we could’ve been in the south of France whilst sat on that balcony.
