With the best collection of tanks in the world, this museum is a must! Especially for those interested in history or mechanics, as the museum features 300 tanks that have fought in every war involving the UK since World War One. Topping off the attractions is the worlds first tank. Delve into the history of the nation and admire the leaps in engineering on a huge scale!
Monkey World is dedicated to the life and welfare of monkeys through rescue schemes, rehabilitation schemes and preserving their lives at the centre. Visitors can walk around monkey world viewing a vast array of primates, learning about each species as they go. Perfect for the little ones, this attraction is sure to bring a smile to the whole family at anytime of the year.
Dorset is surrounded by beautiful and inspiring coastline. With stunning aircrafts including the Vulcan Bomber, Piston Provost and Wessex Helicopter to name but a few, you’re sure to have an amazing day. Many of the aircraft’s cockpits are open to the public so you can climb aboard and see for yourself what its like to be a pilot in some of the greatest aviation inventions known to man!
Known as the Jurassic coast, Dorset has a wealth of knowledge on prehistoric animals thanks to the plethora of fossils that have been found there. Dedicated to the research and studies of these once great animals, the Dinosaurland Fossil Museum showcases all they have found in a beautiful setting. Visit the Grade 1 listed building and discover a whole new world that once stood on the same site.
Weymouth Tower, also known as ‘The Jurassic Skyline’ is 174feet tall with views up to 26km (on a clear day of course). Taller than the Tower of London and the Taj Mahal, the Weymouth Tower stands tall on the Dorset coastline and is a platform for all to view the spectacular scenery. During winter it’s vital that you check the weather forecast to make sure it will be a clear day for the best views.
