The property

Devona is a fabulous single storey retreat, perfectly placed in the heart of the picturesque fishing village of Beer, Devon. Set within generous private grounds and enjoying some of the most sought after views in the village, this beautifully finished bungalow looks out across the church, the rooftops of Beer, and the sea beyond. Stylish interiors, exceptional outdoor spaces, and an unbeatable location make Devona an ideal escape for couples, friends, and anyone seeking a memorable coastal break. Inside, a generous open plan living space unfolds, with bi fold doors that showcase the view and open the room straight out to the terrace. The kitchen, complete with smooth marble worktops, is designed for easy socialising whether you’re preparing breakfast or chatting to those relaxing on the sofa. A separate utility room keeps clutter neatly tucked away, so holiday mode comes naturally. The lounge area, with its comfortable seating and wall mounted smart TV, flows seamlessly onto the terrace. Devona comfortably sleeps six guests across three inviting bedrooms, two doubles and a kingsize, each thoughtfully styled for a restful night’s sleep. Two of the rooms enjoy the same coastal views, providing the perfect reason to rise early and watch the village slowly stir into life. A contemporary bathroom offers a calm place to unwind, complete with a shower over the bath, and there is also a convenient additional cloakroom. The wrap around garden has been carefully landscaped over several levels, offering a choice of places to sit and relax throughout the day. Enjoy your morning coffee on the glass fronted terrace, fire up the BBQ on the deck, or stretch out on the lawn among coastal inspired planting. There’s even a charming boules area for relaxed afternoons in the sunshine. With off road parking for two cars, a bonus in Beer, the whole experience is designed for ease. Just a gentle walk from the front door lies the village itself. Beer’s pretty, sheltered cove is home to independent shops, small galleries, friendly pubs, and cafés serving outstanding seafood brought ashore on the same beach. Deck chairs line the pebbled shore, fishing boats sway quietly on the tide, and the South West Coast Path offers breathtaking scenery in either direction, including the beautiful walk to Branscombe -one of the most celebrated stretches of the Jurassic Coast. There is plenty to explore in and around the village, from the historic Beer Quarry Caves, an ancient network of caverns once quarried for the famous Beer Stone, to the peaceful coastal gardens dotted through the area. Visitors can also join a local fishing boat from the beach for a trip out into the bay, perfect for seeing the coastline from the water or bringing home a fresh catch. Seaton, the neighbouring town, is just along the coast with its mile long beach, wildlife rich wetlands, and welcoming esplanade. Or take a short trip to Sidmouth, home to the much loved Donkey Sanctuary, where hundreds of rescued donkeys roam in rolling fields overlooking the sea - a wonderful day out for all ages. The nearby town of Lyme Regis is perfect for a day spent fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast, browsing boutique shops, or enjoying lunch overlooking the iconic Cobb Harbour. Devona is the kind of place that stays with you long after your holiday ends. With its remarkable views, thoughtful comfort, and outstanding location, it offers a truly memorable stay on the Devon coast. About the location

BEER

Seaton 1.5 miles; Lyme Regis 9 miles; Sidmouth 9.5 miles; Exeter 25 miles.

Beer is a small picturesque fishing village on the south Devon coast near Seaton. The shingle beach is very sheltered, backed by limestone cliffs and was once fertile smuggling territory, plus contraband was hidden in nearby caves, which are now a popular tourist attraction. Beer is situated on the stretch of Devon coastline, known as the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site, and the village offers sloping streets lined with picturesque stone houses and cottages built on many different levels of the steep valley sides. There are a good range of shops, friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs in Beer, plus just outside the village is the popular Pecorama Gardens, which are perched on the hill overlooking Lyme Bay. Pecorama boasts the Beer Heights Light Railway and indoor model railway exhibition, along with a children's play area. Beer is a unique Devon fishing village and a great place to stay.
