    IT IS SPACIOUS, COMFORTABLE AND A LOVELY LOCATION. LOOKS OLD BUT ONLY ABOUT 10 YEARS OLD, SO PRETTY UP TO DATE. HOWEVER, THERE ARE A FEW "TIRED FEATURES" WHICH SHOULD BE ATTENDED TO. The property

In beautiful Devon countryside, near Lyme Regis (4 miles away) sleeping 10, set in a private garden, with orchard, meadow and with parking for plenty of cars. The Stone House with its own private entrance and driveway and is set in the magnificent countryside of East Devon. The grounds are private overlooking the rolling Devon countryside and fairly close to the sea. The main house sleeps eight comfortably, with a separate Annexe accommodating an additional two guests, giving a total of ten guests in four double rooms and one twin. (Twin room in the main house). The Stone House has all modern comforts, with beautiful traditional oak floors, traditional furnishings and stone fireplaces. The house has very good accommodation and outstanding views. Most downstairs rooms have French windows with easy access to the walled rose garden, lawns and wild flower meadow and orchard. The dining room and drawing room open out onto terraces and lawns, perfect for outside dining. The master bedroom with its own bathroom and w.c has a 17th Century four poster bed, with views from all windows. The Ground Floor has a stone floored entrance which leads to the left into the main house; straight ahead to a terraced area; and to the right into the separate (and if needed self contained) Annexe, which can be closed off, as it has its own private external entrance. The Main Kitchen has all modern appliances including 2 Miele dishwashers and a large breakfast dining table. The main kitchen leads into a utility room with a washing machine, drier and separate w.c and hand basin. There is a study or TV room with plenty of books and large windows. The Dining Room has a large period dining table and chairs, French doors lead out onto a terrace. The Drawing Room is bright with views and French doors on both sides. There is a large open fireplace and ample seating on three large sofas. In the hall the sweeping oak staircase leads to the 1st floor. The Annexe has its own private entrance and small walled terrace and can also access downstairs to the main house if opened up, via the main hall. The Annexe is completely self-contained with its own open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room. A private staircase leads to the upstairs double bedroom and private bathroom with bath, loo and basin. The Stone House is minutes away from Axmouth village and the harbour. Axmouth forms part of the Jurassic Coast, the village has a beautiful church, thatched cottages and two village pubs serving food. Axmouth is on the Axe Estuary with bird watching, a golf course and the harbour nearby. 1) Lyme Regis: this beautiful town with its shops, restaurants (including Hix) + famous cobb was the setting of The French Lieutenants Woman, by John Fowles, who lived in the town. There are beaches here and at Charmouth. From Lyme sea fishing and boats are possible. 2) Axminster: this quiet market town has various shops and the railway station. It is about nine miles away. 3) Seaton: the famous Seaton Tramway goes to Colyford and Seaton it has a long open beach, various shops and supermarkets. About ten minutes away by car or a mile’s walk. Please note: A maximum of two dogs are accepted. Stairgates will not fit the wide staircase at this property. ALLERGIES: This property has sofas with feather cushions and feather bedding. Please consider this when booking. The Master bedroom has views looking out onto both sides of the property, south into the gardens and to the Devon countryside to the north. Seaton is a seaside town in East Devon on the south coast. It faces onto Lyme Bay, to the west of the mouth of the River Axe with red cliffs to one side and white cliffs on the other. Axmouth and Beer are nearby. A sea wall provides access to the mostly shingle beach stretching for about a mile, and a small harbour. Seaton is on the stretch of Devon coastline, known as the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site, and the town offers a good range of shops, friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs.
