“We knew where Bethel Cottage was having previously walked passed it, but upon arrival, we were even more delighted with the location than we'd remembered, the river, the garden - lovely.”
It was perfect for our family group with lots of space for the five of us. It had everything we needed and we had a great holiday, with a mix of being at the cottage and going out.
Just a couple of points, hopefully constructive, the bed in the middle room - the mattress wasn't quite the right size for the bedframe, so my son ended up filling the gap with pillows, one of the plates on the rack in the kitchen was chipped and one of the cutting boards looked like someone had crayoned on it! Little things I know, none of which spoilt our holiday, or would deter me from returning/recommending the property but thought they would be worth noting.
My husband lost his glasses mid-holiday and we were most impressed by the service we received from Lyme Bay Holidays in trying to find them - which we did - thank you so much, it was so appreciated.
The property
A superbly presented cottage, wonderfully situated alongside the River Lym yet within an easy 5 minute walk of the seafront and the various restaurants and shops in Lyme Regis.
Renovated to a high standard, the owners have married a mix of traditional features with a contemporary finish and beautiful personal touches. A real feature of the property is the large sunny kitchen / dining room with doors leading out to a garden which takes full advantage of the peaceful location. The large lawn is perfect for children to play while you sit back and relax, maybe with a chilled glass of wine, listening to the river flowing nearby.
A welcome pack for your arrival ensures a great start to your holiday and will include milk, tea and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats. This really is a wonderful holiday home-from-home and the perfect place to enjoy all that this unspoilt seaside resort has to offer.
