“The cottage was comfortable and clean but felt more attention should be given to maintenance .”

Windows needed a good clean and the rear lawn mowed . One particular niggle was that the bathroom mirror was set too low for any average height person to use , very irritating . Pleased to see being a thatched cottage great importance was made to the risk of fire with 6 extinguishers placed throughout the cottage . Cottage was in a quiet location which suited us well .

About the location

AXMOUTH

Seaton 1.8 miles; Beer 3.3 miles; Lyme Regis 6.2 miles.

Axmouth is an attractive village situated close to the seaside town of Seaton in East Devon on the popular stretch of Devon coastline, known as the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site. Consisting of pretty stone and thatched cottages, a church and two popular pubs serving food, The Harbour Inn and The Ship, Axmouth is located on the Axe Estuary with bird watching, a golf course and the South West Coastal footpath nearby. A pretty harbour sits where the River Axe meets the sea, with a stone wall and shingle bank providing shelter and making the area popular for fishing, kayaks and paddle-boarders alike. Though there is no village shop in Axmouth, there is a charming café by the harbour for dining out amongst the gentle harbour bustle.

Note: There are steps leading down to the gardens at the rear of the cottage so please bear this in mind when booking. Note: Due to the cottage being thatched, fires are not allowed in the open fireplace
