“This is one of the most peaceful, calming and comfortable cottages we’ve stayed in.”

The photos really don’t do justice. A beautiful situation, bee hives and horses for neighbours, and a glorious garden for relaxing in. Comfy bed, great shower and bath and a local winery a short drive away. Didn’t want to leave!

“A well designed and equipped barn conversion with lots of interesting decorations.”

Space wise fine for a family of 4. Quiet and private location down a lane. Ample parking and sizable gardens good for the dog. Hot water / heating via heat pump setup, seemed very effective in October and there was the option of a log burner and extra electric heaters. Excellent location for Lyme Regis / Charmouth / Seaton and Sidmouth. Nearby well stocked garage with shop although not much else in Musbury (pub was closed whenever we went past) Couple of minor suggestions: 1) There was no mention of a washing machine on the listing so we brought huge amounts of clothing only to find there was in fact a machine in good working order 2) Kitchen bin tiny and not dog compatible! Had to keep all the rubbish up high. Just needs a standard 30L+ bin Very much recommended overall

“Our stay at Dragon Cottage was so enjoyable.”

Musbury is a lovely quiet village with a pub and shop nearby. The cottage itself has a lovely garden with ponies and chickens in adjacent fields. We were lucky with warm autumn sunshine and in the evenings we were able to light the log burner which kept us cosy. We did not want to leave.

“A wonderful cottage with everything you could need for a lovely break and we will definitely return again.”

“Beautiful cottage, lovely quiet location away from any sign of tourism, but within easy reach of many of the coastal towns.”

The only issue was difficulty in getting hold of Sykes on the phone, 45 min wait. This was in relation to a mark on the sofa. May I suggest a book at the premises noting any damage/marks to prevent any anxiety over the £250 held for any damage caused.

MUSBURY

Axminster 3 miles; Seaton 4 miles; Lyme Regis 5 miles.

Musbury is a small village in East Devon lying between the towns of Axminster and Seaton with much of the surrounding unspoilt countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and the centre of the village is a designated Conservation Area. There are plenty of spectacular walks in the surrounding landscape of wooded combes, vast areas of heathland, fertile river valleys and breathtaking cliffs or hilltops. The area is rich in wildlife with local nature reserves providing sanctuaries for birdlife including ospreys around the Axe estuary. From Musbury Castle, a hill fort above the village, there are spectacular views of the Axe Valley. Musbury is three miles from picturesque Seaton Bay with its mile long shingle beach on the Jurassic Coastline, a natural World Heritage Site. The attractive fishing port of Beer is also close-by as is the historic town of Axminster, with medieval minster church by the beautiful river Axe, weekly market, a museum containing antique Axminster carpets and ‘River Cottage’ produce shop and café.
