Unfortunately we were unable to use the shower in the main bathroom as the water was scalding hot and wouldn’t turn down. It was dangerously hot and would cause concern for anyone with children staying at the property. We reported the issue but no action was taken. Also we accidentally left some keys behind and I contacted the owner immediately offering to pay for recorded delivery postage if they could be retuned to us. Two weeks later and we are still waiting for the keys or proof of postage. These are my son’s car and house key so we are very disappointed they haven’t been returned yet.
Thank you for your review Alison. Apologies for the late reply, we are only just able to respond due to Sykes website restriction. We are pleased that you found Cornerside provided everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Upon you contacting us on a Saturday morning to report that the toilet flush handle has snapped, we managed to get a plumber around to you on the same day and he was advised to check the shower issue, as you reported operational difficulties. The new part could not be obtained until first thing Monday morning at which point the repair was carried out, however, the plumber failed to find any issue with the shower having managed to control it sufficiently. I therefore do not understand why you have stated that no action was taken when the plumber attended within hours of you reporting it. Regarding the keys, our cleaner did find them and kindly offered to post them back to you, which unfortunately took a couple of days due to her work load but you are now in receipt of them and our cleaner personally absorbed the cost of the postage.
Given the above, your score is most disappointing
